A pretty little preview of the food & drink editorial from Dainty Obsessions spring issue (which we are excited to announce hits the stands today!) As promised for the Dainty blog, a DIY step-by-step process of these whimsical ice creations.
THE PROCESS G AT H E R W H AT Y O U ’ L L N E E D : • Popsicle maker s • Ice cube tray • Edible flower petals • Water • Crushed ice C R E AT I O N : T h e g e n e r a l i d e a i s s i m p l e – f i l l t h e p o p s i c l e makers and ice tray with water and sprinkle with flower p e t a l s . To p r e v e n t t h e f l o w e r p e t a l s f r o m f l o a t i n g t o t h e t o p b e f o r e f r e e z i n g , i t ’s b e s t t o c r e a t e l a y e r s . Use crushed ice to push the flower petals down, then c o n t i n u e f i l l i n g w i t h s m a l l a m o u n t s o f w a t e r. E n s u r e t h a t the flower petals are equally dispersed for the prettiest result. Carefully set in the freezer and let them solidify – it can take up to a few hours. Once frozen, break the ice out of the molds (with caution!)
