Salting the earth: a ritualistic process of preventing re-cultivation on overtaken land. Photographed within the imagined digital setting of a specific open-world online game, but always with the limitations of a traditional large format camera setup in mind, 'salted earth' envisions a postAnthropogenic future and a more equitable relationship between nature and its human occupants. The final selection of images focuses on interactions between natural forms and built environments, where the former has invariably reclaimed and transformed the latter. This zine was initiated as a lockdown-compliant solution to traditional landscape photography at a time where travel restrictions were at their most severe.
