Pick-ups and Drop offs If you’re a requesting a 3:30pm pick up time, please call in advance if it is not a regular occurrence. For health and safety reasons, we cannot open up the gate before or after this time until 4:10pm. We open our doors from 8:00am and close the door at 8:45am. Please make sure you are arriving to us before 8:45am as your child is missing out on valuable learning time. If you are absent due to sickness or going on holiday, please call us or text us to let us know. The Shed in the garden: The shed in the garden opposite the pre-school is not our property. It is the schools and they have requested that you not put your buggies inside. We are not responsible for your buggies as it is not our property. We cannot be held responsible if something was to happen to your pushchair. Please take buggies home with you or get them on their scooters! 2 year Checks: Is your child 2 or 2 and a half years of age? If they are, it’s time for your 2 year old check with your health visitor. They are good for general check-ups, hearing tests and for you to voice any concerns you may have. Once you have them done, please bring in their red books so we can photocopy their 2 year old page. For us, they are a legal requirement so please help us and bring your red books in! If your child is going to school in September: If you have applied for your child to go to school in September, you should soon start hearing of where they will be off to. As soon as you know or have chosen, don’t forget to inform us. Where possible, please provide us with a leaving date as soon as you can. If you are applying for school nursery, please be aware the application closing date is 4 th May 2018. You will need to download the online form and apply to the schools directly. Please take your cups or bottles home and sterilise them: Please make sure you are taking your child cups or beakers home, dissembling them and cleaning them thoroughly. This is not our responsibility. This is the kind of mould and dirt which can occur in any type of cup or beaker. Please make sure you are cleaning them thoroughly. Please encourage your child to use our cups and water which are available all through the day. (These are online images not those of anyone who attends the setting). Please turn over for information from the room
News from Natalie, Jeanna, Lacey, Eva, Emma, Megan, Angela, Hina and Charlotte: Topic: All about Me and What I can do! This topic is a re-visit from our topic in September. It helps any new children settling with us getting to know their peers and teachers as well as showing the older children how far they have come since September. We will be looking at their EyLog profiles, family pictures and our routine to help support children with this. Show us what your child can do at home; for example, get them to help with the hoovering or writing a shopping list for the food shop- share them with us on the EyLog. Encourage their self independent skills by allowing them to dress themselves or chose their own outfits. It is a great topic for you to realise how much your child can do without adult support or guidance!
Home Mission: All about me Boxes: Your mission is to create your all about me box with your child at home. Let them decorate it and pick things to go in it which tell us a bit about your child. It could be their favourite food packaging, photocopies of pictures or even their favourite book or colouring book. Get creative and help us with the topic. Birthdays and Important dates: We would like to wish a very happy birthday to Krisen on the 26th, Khadra on the 30th, Mia on the 13th, Ella on the 4th, Reet on the 25th and to Santosh on the 27th of this month. We would also like to wish Lacey a happy birthday for the 17th of this month!
Important reminders: - Thank You: We would like to say well done to all those parents who have been adding onto their child’s EyLog profiles. We love seeing the pictures of what you get up to on your weekends and it will also make your learning journal look extra special when you leave us! Please check your emails if you have not yet logged onto your child’s online profile. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask us. - Helpful Handouts: If you, family members or friends are ever having a clear out of resources such as newspapers, egg boxes, containers, clothes, material etc. Please consider us before throwing the away. We use lots of second hand things on a daily basis in both of our settings. - Fruit and Vegetable donations: Thank you for your support, you are doing really well with supplying us with fruit and vegetables. Please keep it up and remember to do it weekly! - Well done: Well done to everyone who took part in the Easter homework mission. Your creations were fabulous!
