Harvard Park Day Nursery Feltham August Newsletter 2014. News from the Managers Nicki and Tracey –Firstly we would like to start by saying we have loved and will treasure all of our leavers this year. You have touched our hearts in so many ways and we would like to wish you and your families all the best for the future. We feel very privilege that you chose Harvard Park as your first step in education and we know you will thrive at school! We would also like to mention that we are having a staff change around. We do this yearly as it keeps everyone fresh and motivated. If you have any worry or concerns please feel free to come and talk to us. Your child’s new keyworker will introduce themselves this month. Under NO circumstances are siblings to open or close the front main door! This is only for adults to do and please look and be aware of where your child’s fingers are before closing the door. We have had 3 accidents that could have been quite severe! Thank you for your co-operation. News from Deputy Carol- Please remember to ring us and inform us that your child

will not be in. It is important that we know why a child has not attended their sessions and it is polite to just give us a quick ring or leave a message. Also please ring beforehand if your child will be late and need lunch saved. We do cater per head and sometimes if we are not expecting your child we do not cater for them. So please ring and inform us. Thank You

News from Baby Studio –Sana, Mary, Gurpreet, Diluni, Nabila and Chelsea (who will also be covering in other rooms): This month we are looking at our topic of Summer Holidays. We will be exploring this topic through a range of ways such as treasure baskets and chatter time to help develop your child’s language, messy and sensory play to develop your child’s creative skills, and looking at past holidays snaps of themselves, friends and teachers to help develop their personal and social skills. We will be doing bucket and spade play with different textures such as sand for our older children and grass for our younger ones. As the weather is getting warmer, we will also be engaging in water play with our paddling pool which help and supports independence skills as well as their mathematics skills. Just a reminder to our parents, please check your child’s cubby holes and make sure you take the correct items home. If you do mistakenly pick up something that doesn’t belong to your child please bring it back so we can return it to the rightful owner. When providing cups, bottles and lids please label them as this will prevent mix ups. Similarly with clothes and sun creams, the weather is getting warmer and we do go out for regular walks so please provide sun cream. Please provide enough changes of clothes as they are babies and will get messy.

We will also be looking at where we go on holiday and different countries around the world, so if you have any pictures of your child on holiday please bring or send them in so they can show their friends and we can put them on display. News from –Amy and Holly, Viviana, Pauline and Danielle, Kulwinder, Sonia and Sam: Hello everyone! We would like to start by saying goodbye to some of our Freedom Zone children who are making the big leap into school. We would like to wish you all the best of luck for you and your families and hope to see you again soon. This month’s topic will be summer holidays. We will be discussing where we go, what we do and how we get to where we are going. It would be great if you could bring in or send some holiday pictures of your child on holiday so we can show them at group times and make a lovely display. Just a reminder that in this beautiful weather children do need to be dressed appropriately. Shoes should be sensible and no flip flops as these can cause accidents. All shoes should have straps and be secure. It would be a big help if you could provide your child with labelled sun cream and hats too.
