Harvard Park Day Nursery LTD.

Notes from the management team: Nicki, Tracey and our deputy manager Carol Firstly, for those of you who are leaving us this month, we would like to say a huge thank you for your support during your time with us. It means a lot that you chose Harvard Park to help your child in their first steps of education and we know that your child will be a shinning star in whatever they chose to do in life. Goodbye and Goodluck from all of us at Harvard Park and don’t forget to come back and visit! Thank you to all of our parents who have given us gifts— we are so grateful and the staff are very thankful too. If you are having a day off from nursery, are booking a holiday or will not be in for any other reason— please let us know. It is important for our daily numbers to know who will be attending and who will not be. If you are going abroad please be aware that we may require proof of a negative test when you are due to return and will require information about where you have travelled too. This is to safeguard ourselves and all of the families in our care. A message regarding buggies : For those children in Baby Studio—if you are working from home or live locally, please take your pushchair away with you. For those of you in Small Steps— as from September, we will no longer be accepting pushchairs as you are using the back entrance. For hygiene reasons, the wheels carry a lot of dirt and wheeling them through Freedom Zone is unfair to those children and staff. For those children in Freedom Zone (including those who have recently moved up) we no longer accept any buggies into Freedom Zone. Due to the lack of space we are struggling with area’s to park the buggies which do not pose a healthy and safety hazards to any child. You will be asked to take all buggies away with you.

Observation for the month of August (EyLog): Due to staff members having time off, settling in new children and catching up with paperwork—there will be no observations on your child’s EyLog for the month of August.

We will also be changing our observation format in September to fit alongside the revised EYFS, so please allow time for these changes and you will also be sent a document explaining parental expectations and required input.

When is your last day at Harvard Park? For all children who receive funding, your last day with us will be Friday 29th August! Your last session for that week will be the last day that you attend. For example if you attend Monday and Wednesday, Wednesday will be your last day. If you need longer, please drop us a call or email to speak to us. If you are planning to leave before the above date then let us know of the date via email or when you drop off. This is so we can have everything ready for you!

Birthdays for the month of August:

These kinds of shoes pose a BIG health and safety risk to children in our care as they can cause a lot of trips and falls. If your child arrives in these we will be asking you to return home and bring us in another pair.

Small Steps: Happy 2nd birthday to Korou and Aroush! Freedom Zone: Happy 3rd birthday to Jibreel and Happy 4th birthday to Rayhanna! Staff: Happy birthday to Saptati! We hope you all have a lovely day celebrating!

Please feel free to continue uploading your summer adventures! We are encouraging the children to communicate in different ways to help develop and increase this language and vocabulary. This is through activities where they can use sounds such as farm animals se or focus group activities to encourage imitating familiar daily words. Reminders: Show us what your child does at home over the weekend by uploading pictures and video’s through the eyLog—if you are not sure how to do this, please catch us at drop off’s or pick ups .

Please ensure you are providing enough spare clothes for your child, they are babies and will get messy! 3/4 pairs of everything is a good amount.

Target @ home : on your way to and from nursery talk with your baby about what they can see i.e. birds, cars, bus) The more your repeat the words, the increased likelihood of them picking these words up and using them themselves.

Task @ home: lots of water play and fun in the water to stay cool in the rising temperatures of summer. Please remember to wear sun hats and apply sun-cream throughout the day to prevent sun stroke and heat exhaustion.
