Notes from the management team: We would just like to say welcome back to all of those who are retuning to us in November and welcome to all of our new Harvard Park children and families. Thank you for all of your support during this unprecedented time, we really do appreciate it. Have you downloaded the ParentMail and EyLog apps? They are both free to download and register with. It is important for your partnership with us to have these downloaded and accessible to receive notifications about your child’s learning as well as important notices such as closure dates and reminders. The 2nd Lockdown - Harvard Park will remain open until Boris and the government or Hounslow Early Years say anything different. If there are any changes in our circumstances, we will update you. On a lighter note, we would like to let you all know that Amy G from Small Steps is expecting a baby in February. She will be leaving to start her maternity leave mid January! Congratulations to Amy and her partner!

Notes from Baby Studio: Ducklings Focus: Communication and Language We would like to welcome Kiara and Isaiah to our Baby Studio! We will be getting to know all of our babies this month and planning activities to increase their communication and language skills. This will include lots of group activities using interactive toys, small song groups and knock knock boxes as well as tummy time and walking practice for our nonmobile babies. We will do lots of labelling of items at meal times and at nappy times to help our children develop a group of single words. To ensure our babies get fresh air during their time at nursery, we do go out for daily walks. Please can we remind you to provide thick winter coats and weather appropriate shoes to make sure your child is nice and cosy when we are out and about. Unfortunately we do not hold spare jackets at nursery, if you do not bring one if your child may not be able to go out for a walk.

We would like more of you to use the EyLog to upload pictures of what your child has been up to during the weekend! It all helps work towards your child’s development here. If you need help with this or are unsure, Amy has put together some instructional video’s which can be found on our Facebook page. Mission: Choose 1 book and 1 song to use and sing for a week with your child. Repetition is a great way to support your child with new language and is a key skill we use here. Notes from Small Steps: Bunnies Topic: Let’s Pretend! We would like to welcome Tahaan, Cameron, Oliver and Adam to our Small Steps room! We would like to wish Mithra, Tam and Jose a fond farewell as they move up into Freedom Zone!

For our topic this month, we will be exploring children’s imagination using role play activities and include lots of dress up! Role play is play which gives children roles to play such as cooking in the home corner or playing with wooden blocks and turning it into a train. Role play helps build social skills as well as communication and language. Dressing Up also allows the children to develop their independence skills through choices and encouragement to dress themselves. At Harvard Park we create family albums for the children which are used when a child is feeling unsettled to support them, to include them in our family and to encourage sharing with their peers. Some of our children do not have family albums, please send in recent family photo’s and we can create on of these for your child! If you are not sure on what you need to send or if your child needs one, please speak to us at pick up or drop off. We would like more of you to use the EyLog to upload pictures of what your child has been up to during the weekend! It all helps work towards your child’s development here. If you need help with this or are unsure, Amy has put together some instructional video’s which can be found on our Facebook page. Mission: At home, encourage your child to dress themselves! Give them a chance before jumping in to help them with simple things such as socks, shoes and coats. You can post their progress on the EyLog! Dates for you diary and reminders: •

Harvard Park Day Nursery LTD.

Notes from Freedom Zone: Cool Cats Topic: Music from around the world Hello and welcome to November. Firstly we would like to welcome back Ishaan, Vihaan and Aadvi. Welcome to Tiana, Adrijus and Adam who have joined Freedom zone and welcome to Mithra, Tam and Jose who are moving up from Small Steps. We would like to say goodbye to Pascal and Kayla who will be leaving us this month and we would like to inform you that Gurpreet will be heading over to the Pre-School in Isleworth until Christmas to support them with their high numbers. Our topic for this month is all about music from around the world and other cultures. We will be looking at different genres of music as well as the different instruments we use to create music. During this topic we will be engaging in activities such as making our own instruments from junk modelling, lots of musical movement, look at tempo and styles of music and dressing up in traditional clothing. We will also be looking at the celebration of Bonfire night and how to stay safe around fireworks - if you are seeing any over the 1st weekend of November , enjoy and stay safe. We will be making poppies for Remembrance day and taking them over to the local memorial, and celebrating Diwali on Friday the 13th of this month. It will be a very busy November for us all! Reminders: 

Clothing and the weather: Please bring hats and gloves! We don’t have spares on site so please make sure you write your child’s name inside the hat and each glove to prevent them from being misplaced! We also need you to be sending children in THICK winter coats or if in waterproofs, provide an extra layer for them. We are keeping the doors open to keep a constant flow of clean air through the room to reduce the level of germs within the building. All children must have a jumper every session. Updated photo’s for family albums: Some of our children are looking like babies or have had new additions to your families. Please can you send some updated family photo’s through on our email address: info@harvardparkdaynursery.co.uk so we are able to updated these on your child’s family albums. If you are a new child or have never sent any in, please do so! So far we have had none :(

EyLog: We would like more of you to use the EyLog to upload pictures of what your child has been up to during the weekend! It all helps work towards your child’s development here. If you need help with this or are unsure, Amy has put together some instructional video’s which can be found on our Facebook page. Thank you to those parents who are already sending through great observations!

Feedback: If you require feedback, please ensure you are here 10 minutes before 1:00pm pick up and 6:00pm pick up. We still have jobs we are required to complete before we leave so will not be able to give in depth feedback at this time.

Mission: Self Help skills - we need to work on this together. Please encourage your child to feed themselves at home. When they go to big school, the teachers and lunch staff will not sit there and feed your child. We understand it can be frustrating but it is for their development not convenience. May we suggest that you get children involved in making dinner or setting them cooking challenges to help your child understand what is in their food. Try at least 1 new fruit and vegetable a week and post your progress on the EyLog!

Dates for you diary and reminders: •
