Harvard Park Pre School Isleworth December Newsletter 2014. News from the Managers Nicki and Tracey and deputy manager, Natalie – Sorry last month this did not happen due to not having shoe bags to transport the teddies so:-From this month we will be introducing Holly and Harvey Bear who come with home diaries. These bears will come home with your children at weekends and holiday times when they have made excellent choices at Pre School. The idea is that you take photos send them to info@harvardparkpreschool.co.uk and we will print them and you write in the diary what they have done or been to see over your holiday or weekends. We have been doing this for a while at Day Nursery and Mikey the Monkey has travelled to different countries and having great holidays but unfortunately he has gone missing – so if your child is chosen to look after either Harvey or Holly please keep them safe and return after each weekend or holiday period.

Just a few notes to start off the month of December:• Please it is very important that your child does not bring anything containing NUTS into the pre-school setting as we do have children and staff who have a NUT ALLERGY!!!  • Labelling your child’s clothing especially hats coats and gloves as we are having trouble with some children wearing the same colour and the same type of coats. • We are still having problems at drop off times and having to open and close the gate many times – PLEASE BE ON TIME!!!! • Some parents have requested that they collect their children at 3.30 due to horrid weather if you would like this option please let the staff know and we will have a group of children in the office room ready and waiting to go home – the other children will stay in the big room tidying up and having stories or songs. • With the bad weather possibly coming our way please be aware that there may be unexpected closures especially with us being within the school. We will endeavour to try and contact you via email, phone or Facebook at the earliest time so please take this on board that if it snows really heavy or playgrounds become slippery Government Guidance will kick in at this point.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY:• 17th December – normal session - Morning children’s Christmas Party and Santa comes to visit. Food List will go up could you put your child’s name next to one item. It will be Christmas Jumper or Fancy Dress on this day. If it is not your day we will ask you to swap a day during this week if you would like your child to attend. • 18th December – normal session – Afternoon children’s Christmas Party and Santa comes to visit. Food List will go up could you put your child’s name next to one item. It will be Christmas Jumper or Fancy Dress on this day. If it is

Notes from the Team:Christmas and Winter Activities/songs will be going on in the next 3 weeks. The theme this term we will be choosing 2 storybooks for age and stage of the children. The children who are developing their communication will be concentrating on DEAR ZOO and the children who are secure in communication will be concentrating on GOING ON A BEAR HUNT. If you have either of these books at home please read with your children. After Christmas we will invite parents and carers to maybe come in and listen to our story bags the staff have been working on. We would like to make a Christmas Market outside for the children to play in:- if you have any old decorations ie tinsel, ribbon, cards, wrapping paper, lights things you will not use anymore please donate to us to make this happen it will be great fun.  Big well done to all your parents who have been encouraging either walking or riding to pre-school! Less buggies is better for us as we have lack of storage as you can see. To avoid upset or confusion everything should be clearly labelled with your child’s name. Also remember once you collect your child from their groups they are your responsibility so DO NOT let them push the door handle to let themselves out. ADULTS ONLY!!!!!!

We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Our Manager Nicki and her daughter Amy and also to Lakshith, Imogen, Maha, we hope you all have a lovely day!!!!! Please could parents/ carers bring in fruit so we can share it during our snack time? You are doing great so keep it up!  We have noticed that some parents are still parking next to parked cars outside the school gates please do not do this! PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING THE STAFF CAR PARK AT ANYTIME EVEN IF THE BARRIER IS UP/THEY DO HAVE CAMERAS AND HARVARD PARK DO GET INTO TROUBLE IF OUR PARENTS ARE SEEN DRIVING IN. THANK YOU

Can parents please join our Facebook site as we are trialling our news letters on our new site to save our trees! Just type in Harvard Park Pre-school and Day Nursery and we should pop up! We regularly update this with pictures, messages and notices. We will of course print of a few copies to those parents who do not have access to a computer. We will also display a copy on our parents table.
