There has Been a change to our Christmas dress up party!
We will be having a morning and an afternoon party at pre-school on Tuesday 18 th. If this is not your child’s day, please talk to Natalie about swapping sessions. We do have limited availability so make sure you speak to her early. We will be having a special visitor during these sessions too. We will be pre-teaching the children about Santa and preparing them for his visit to pre-school. If you do not want your child to have a visit, please let us know on the day. This will be a dress up day – no theme just anything your child wants to wear! If your child normally has lunch with us, please be aware we will be having a bigger spread for snack (like an early lunch). If you bring lunch and it is returned to you full, they will have eaten during the day. Any concerns or questions, please speak to Natalie or Jeanna.
Wednesday 19th December: Last day at Preschool Today will be our last day before the end of term. Please be aware that our closing hour will change. All children will need to be picked up between 3:10 – 3:20 pm – no later. The school will be closing early. We will be back to school on Monday 7th January 2019!
Post Box and Party food List
Our post box is now officially open! Do not feel you have to write cards for every child or write cards at all. This is a free choice for you and your child. Card lists are available and encourage your children to write their own or even do a little bit of mark making in them. Our post box will close on Friday 14 th Decemberplease no posts after this date. Party food list: Our party food list will be up before Monday 10 th. Please select one thing off the lists and write your name next to it. If you have selected fresh food, please bring it to us on party day (18 th).
Health and Safety: Toys and Carrier bags
Carrier Bags: Clearly these are a very big health and safety hazard. Children do have access to their coat pegs. Please think of the consequences of carrier bags- we are kindly asking your not to bring these in and bring a normal rucksack or back in instead. Thank you Toys: We understand that children can be difficult to encourage to leave the house in the mornings or get excited over a new toy but please can we ask you NOT to bring these in. We cannot be held responsible for toys in our setting. We have plenty here and we cannot watch toys being brought in by children. If they want to bring them in, kindly take them home with you before you leave. We are not responsibility for these going missing or getting lost.
Labelling items including coats:
Please put names in your child’s coats and hats. We are not responsisible for this going missing if another child has the same item of clothing as another child. Please use a marker pen to do this. If you are unsure on whether or not it belongs to your child, please ask a member of staff. We can do this for you however we need your permission to do so!
Lateness to and being picked up from pre-school :
Most of our children will be on time and we understadn there will be days where you are running late, however this does cut into your child’s learning time and disruptes our group times when we have to let you in. We do charge for lateness so please be prompt when picking up and dropping off.
Starting Reception Class in September 2019?
If your child was born between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015, we will need to apply for a reception class place. The closing date for apllications is 15 th January 2019. Hounslow residents must apply online at www.hounslow.gov.uk/admissions . If you need any help or advice, please come and see Natalie.
News from Jeanna, Lacey, Eva, Emma, Megan, Shamim, Asma and Nida: Topic: Story of Christmas
We have a very busy month ahead of us! Our topic will focus on the story of Christmas. We will be looking at the story during our group times and rolling groups, learning new words relating Christmas, exploring new textures through sensory play and of course, learning lots of new Christmas carols. We will also be encouraging your child to do lots of mark making to develop their fine motor skills and also spending time exploring the winter weather outdoors. Please check the tables at home time for your child’s art work. They will more than likely be receiving lots over the next month so please check regularly. We will try to remind you where possible.
If you do not want your child celebrating Christmas, please be aware there are lots of activities going to be taking place based on the holiday of Christmas. Please inform your keyworker and Natalie if you do not want your child to take part and we will try to make adaptions where possible.
Home Mission:
Encourage your child to do mark making while writing their Christmas cards for their families! Take pictures and upload them to your Eylog profiles.
