Notes from the management team: our Managing Director’s Nicki and Tracey and our manager Carol:

As we reach December, it can only mean one thing … Christmas is just around thecorner! We would like to say thank you to all of theparents and carers for uploading onto our EyLog system and sharing your child’s development with us. In 2023 we would like to seemore of you uploading and sharing as we will be back on track with our Parents in Partnership.We would also like to congratulate Harrietfor passingher qualification training!

We have some sad news to share with you Nabila who has been with us for over 5 years will be leaving us this month as she is taking earlyretirement.Her last day with us willbe on Friday 23rd December - thank you for everything youhave donefor thechildren and Harvard Park Team, we will miss you very much and hopeyou will come and visit often!

During the weeks of 12th to 23rd December we will have our party sessions as well as our pyjama day. This is also a chance for us to catch up on any outstanding observations and work, sorting or cleaning we may need to catch up on so during these weeksthere will be noobservations exceptfrom the party days.

A few little reminders for December:

If there is something concerning you or you wish to have a catch up with your child’s keyworker about their development please book in an appointment with your room leader and come in for a chat.

If your child is due to go to reception class this year You have until the 15th January 2023 to apply for Reception Class 2023: When can my child start school? | Primary School Admissions | London Borough of Hounslow .Any child born between 01/09/2018 31/08/2019 this applies to you!

Health and Safety Notices and reminders:

Appropriate Clothing which reflect the weather: Please continue to monitor the weather and provide a warm coat for your child when they come in. Our garden is shaded until 3:00pm so it can be cold up until late afternoon. Please also continue to dress your children appropriately with Velcro shoes no crocs or sandals.

Folding Buggies in the lobby: Baby Studio Parents please fold down all of your buggies, both big and small. We are limited on space and our baby studio is full. Please note that no bikes are to be left at nursery scooters only.

We are updating our policies and procedures you will be receiving them once a month still however at some point when they have been finalised you will receive a full copy. They will also be available on our EyLog System and website, but we will inform you of this at the later date.

Please see all party dates on the back of this newsletter December is a very busy time and there are lots of dates you may need to be aware of. Practitioners will try to remind you as often as they can but please also make a note of these for yourselves.

Closure dates over Christmas:

We will be closing at 4:00pm on Friday 23rd December. We will then be closed from Monday 26th December to Monday 2nd January 2023. We will be open again on Tuesday 3rd January 2023 at the normal time.

Notes from Baby Studio: Ducklings Amanda, Mary, Afsha, Amy and Gurpreet:

Focus: Winter and Christmas Fun!

We would like to start by welcoming Advik and family intoour room we know you will have lots of fun learning and developingwith us! We will be creating a winter wonderland for thechildren to explore in a warm and cosy environment where they will be ableto explore different textures and shapes. Over the month of December, we will plan and carry out lots of Christmas activities to cover thethree main areas of learning these will including creating Christmas Decorations with different materials, lookingat simple Christmas stories and lots of Christmas musicand movement to different songs and rhymes!

Please upload pictures to the EyLog thank you to Matias and Eden Grace’s parents who do this regularly it helps us to mark of your child’s development. This timeshow us how you explore theoutside world, whether it’s a walk in thebuggy to theduck pond or exploring a local playground post those pictures or videos!

Your mission: While out and about on weekends or away from nursery, take some time to have a look at the Christmas decorations in the shop windows or within your local area! 

Coats, Hats and Gloves: As theweather is changing please start to provide warm coats as well as hat and gloves for thecoming winter.We do not have spares on site so please provide them as we like to wrap thebabiesup so they are niceand toasty when we are out on a walk. 

Trim your child’s nails:Please trim your child’snails.Best time is bath timewhen they are soft if you have trouble, try whilethey are in their deep sleep state. We are having lots of accidents/ incidents involving nailson children themselves such as scratching or itching.

Notes from Small Steps: Bunnies Qani, Liliana, Ellie May and Anna: Focus and Topic: It’s Christmas!

We would like to welcome Kayla and family in to our room.we know you will have lots of fun in learning and developing with us! Christmas is our favouritetimeof year and this month the children will be very busy with all thefestive activities we have planned.These will include creating our own Christmas decorations,music and movement as well as dressing up to Christmassongs and rhymes, learning new focus words such as Santa,Reindeer and Presents and of course continuing to work on thetargets we have set for our children duringthefirst week of our learning programme (31stOctober).

Please upload pictures to the EyLog thank you to Flynn,Poppy and Rajishanti’s parents who do this regularly it helps us to mark of your child’s development! We would love to see your children singing, dancing or talking at home post those video’s or photo’s so we can link this off on their development trackers!

Reminders: Our Christmas post box will be open from Monday 21st November - please ask for a Christmas name list if you would like to write cards.

Notes from Freedom Zone: Cool Cats Viviana, Charlotte, Sam, Sherry, Ellie, Elvia, Nabila, Hannah, Harriet and Danielle:

Focus: Feeling Festive!

As you may have read inthemanagers part of thenewsletter, Nabila will be leaving us this month.We are very sad to seeher go but would like to take this opportunity to say amassive thank you for thesupport you have provided thechildren and their families as well as to theFreedom Zoneteam we will all miss you Nabila!

Moving into December thelast few weeks of our 6 week learning plan is looking like this:

Week 5 (28th - 2nd Dec):

Christmas Preparations begin

We will be preparing the room and children for our festive celebrations.Thechildren will be helping us to decorate theroom as well as create things to take home for families and friends. We will also begin to introducefestive songs into our group times withrhymes such as When Santa gotstuck up the chimney , Christmas Pudding and Ruldolph thered nosed Reindeer. If you know of these songs, sing them at home as well!

Week 6 (5th 9th Dec):

Christmas Continues.

We will continue with thefestive celebrationsand decorations furthering thechildren's learningby looking at thestory of Christmas or TheNativity .We will also be going on walks around our local area to have a look at thedecorations and Christmas lights when possible.The children will be workingwith their keyperson to engage in lots of different activities if you do not want your child taking part, please speak to your child’s keyperson as soon as possible.
