Notes from your Pre-School Teachers: Jeanna, Eva, Sima, Roshelle, Cathy and Carmela: Focus: Christmas and all things Festive! This month Pre-school has started setting up outdoor open hut and turning into a Santa’s grotto. The children have been helping to set it up and we are going to use this grotto as part of our wrapping station. During our circle times we have been learning about the days of the week, encourage your child to sing you their song and together you can learn it. We will soon be setting up our Christmas Tree which the children will be encouraged to decorate with their teachers. We will also be creating our own decorations from salt dough and making some Christmas cookies. Throughout December we will be introducing new Christmas songs which will be Father Christmas, Jingle Bells, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, We wish you a Merry Christmas and Christmas Pudding. If you do know these songs, please practice them with your child at home to help develop their language and help them to become more familiar with them. All of our Christmas activities will co-inside with the children’s individual targets as well as support all 7 area’s of development. We will be sending all arts and crafts home during the month of December - we will also be sending all bags home to be replenished over the holidays too! To help our room development, could you please send past pictures of your and your family celebrating Christmas or doing something festive over the Christmas period. You can forward them to our WhatsApp's and we will display them on our board to help the children understand how other families celebrate Christmas. This could be decorating the house, making festive treats or opening gifts on Christmas Day. Please send them to use by Tuesday 7th December so we can feature them! Reminders:
The weather is changing - please make sure you are bringing in a coat/thick jacket, woolly hat, gloves and a scarf (with names on the labels) and sturdy shoes so we can continue to go out on regular walks and get our daily dose of fresh air. Please also make sure that their outfits are also reflective of the weather - no thin summer dresses or shorts.
Please send up to date family photo’s or if you are new family photo’s to help support your child while they are at the setting. Our children love to look at and share their family albums with each other and some children are missing out. Thank you to those of you who already have!
If you have any old Christmas decorations including packs of cards you no longer require or are planning to get rid of - please consider donating them to us as we are always in need of pieces for creative activities or to decorate our room.
Continue to uploading onto the EyLog - some of you are doing great and supporting your child’s development. Please see us if you are having trouble or are not sure what to do!
