EY log: Thank you for being so patient with us with regards to the online profiles. We have had a few technical hitches but we are now ready for you to be able to access them. Over the week of Monday 4th December, you will receive an email from the EY log company (not from us). They will send you an activation link, where you will create your own passwords to access your child’s learning journals. If you have more than one child with us in the setting, it is only one password and both profiles will be visible to you. You can also download the app which is for Apple and Android. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask us and we will try and help you as much as we can. We severely apologise for this delay. Lastly, we would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!
News from Baby Studio – Simran, Mary, Marisa, Nabila, and Sherry : Welcome to December and welcome to Prisha who has joined us! For this month, we will be doing lots of activities based around the celebration of Christmas. We will be listening to Christmas songs, having lots of festive musical movement and dressing up sessions to help children with their co-ordination, and of course making some fabulous decorations and keepsakes for you to treasure forever. For the older children, we will also be focusing on ‘sharing’ or for some, starting to recognise times when things may need to be shared. We will do this through small group times where we have limited resources to look at or investigate and we pass it round the circle. For our younger children, we will be doing lots of first steps or walking practice to develop their physical skills. We will also be reducing the number of dummies which are being used in our baby room. It can have an effect on speech causing language delay. We will only be giving it to them if they require it at sleep time or to settle when they are extremely upset. It would be great if you could continue this at home and support the work we will be doing here at the nursery. We do have leaflets which explain the effect dummies have on a child’s development available for you on request or in the lobby. Can parents please join our Facebook site as we are trialling our news letters on our new site to save our trees! We will of course print of a few copies to those parents who do not have access to a computer. We will also display a copy on our parents table. .
A few reminders for the month of December: - Labelling bottles: Please label all water and milk bottles. Children are bound to have similar or the same bottles. To avoid confusion and upset, please label them. - Change in weather: Please supply us with a coat or warm jackets so we are able to continue going out on walks. Where possible please ensure we also have a pair of shoes or warm foot wear. Also, make sure you are providing a sufficient amount of spare clothes in case nappies leak or clothes get dirty. - Family Pictures: If you have not already done so, please could you email us some family pictures. We use them in and around the room such as family album, which children can access and help them settle in.
Your mission this month is to: - Send us your family pictures!

If you know the words, it would be great if you could sing with your children at home too. Harvard Park Day Nursery Feltham: December Newsletter 2016. News from –Viviana, Sam, Sonia, Salina, Vaida, Qani, Marilyn and Nabila A: IMPORTANT: Our signing in board is located by the door, please do not forget to sign your child both in and out when you enter and leave the building. It is an important document which we use for many things including fire evacuations. Hello, firstly we would like to welcome Vihaan, Aliana, Maher and Sam into our room! We would also like to say a sad goodbye to Henry, Rishaan, Aurora, Gabriel H and Chelsea who are all leaving our room during this month. We would like to wish you all the best of luck! We would also like to thank Megan (Zack’s mum) for joining Vaida and a few children to make some decorations for Christmas. The children enjoyed sharing time with you so thank you. Our topic for this moth is Christmas! If you have any unwanted Christmas decorations or any kind of boxes, could we please have them? Begin to talk about Christmas at home as well as look at the story of Jesus as that will be our focus in the room. If you DO NOT want your child to take part in any Christmas activities, please inform your keyworker or room leader. If you have any junk modelling resources such as plastic pots, cardboard boxes, cardboard tubes etc. Please could we have them for our creative area? We will also need some for our Christmas wrapping station in December too! A few reminders for this month: Names in coats: Children are bound to have the same coats or belongings. Writing their name on the label will prevent things going missing. We cannot really be held responsible if a child’s coat is the same as someone else’s and there is no way to differentiate between the two. If you do not own a permanent marker at home, we will happily do this for you but we need to have your permission. Change in Weather: The weather has got a lot colder after the last few weeks. Please provide your child with hat and gloves, labelled with their name, so they do not go missing or get lost. We do have spares but not enough for everyone. If your child shares a peg, please put them in their drawer or in their bags, just inform a practitioner of where they are. Book Bags: If your child has a book bag, please make sure you are bringing them in so we can their books and we can change them. It is entirely your child’s choice of book and we have a wide variety to choose from. Reading is an important skill children need to be aware of and it enables you to spend quality time with your child. If you do not currently have a book bag, they are available to purchase from Carol in the office.
Your mission this month is to: - Begin to look at key words for Christmas to develop your child’s knowedge of these objects as well as their vocabulary. We will be focusing on Tinsel, Bauble, Santa, Reindeer, Christmas tree etc. Go for a walk around your local area and see what you can spot.
