Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Year! We would like to welcome Jeremiah and Jordon to our room. The theme this month is Day and Night. All of our planned activities are carried out based on the ages and stages of our children. We will be looking at the colours that are associated with day and night and using paint as well as other material’s to create pictures. We will also be doing lots of sensory play with torches and flash lights in a darkened room alongside songs such as Twinkle Twinkle to engage children in their learning. Just a few small reminders; please sign your children in and out on the board. It is important as we use them in fire drills and need to know who exactly is in the building. Remember to check your child’s cubby holes for all their belongings and to take them home, our cubby holes are of limited space and need to be kept clear. During this cold weather we do ask you to dress your children appropriately and bring in the correct accessories i.e. hat scarf, thick coat. We do go out in all weathers for walks and the outside area so please bare this in mind.

Your mission this month is to:-To bring or send in family photos for a special activity. It is all to enhance your child’s learning! These are also comforting to our new children who are finding it harder to settle.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a good start to the New Year. We just have a few reminders for you; if you are running late please remember to phone us as your children do miss out on morning group times and other important learning. It is also very important to label all your child’s belongings including bags to prevent things from going missing. Your children do independently have access to their belongings and sometimes like to show their peers what’s in their bags, Labelling their items will help and us to locate items that are misplaced. Our theme for the month is Day and Night, we will be learning about what happens at these times, visually and throughout the world. We will be investigating what animals come out during the night and during the day to see the differences between them, as well as talking about our mummies and daddies that work at night time. All of this is to enhance your child’s understanding and develop their knowledge of the world we live in. All of our planned activities are based on this theme and will including minithemes such as animals, telling the time, listening to sounds and many more. Your mission this month is to: - Talk to your child about their day time and night time routines so they can feedback to us what they do at home. This will be a discussion point in our group times.
