Harvard Park Pre School Isleworth: July Newsletter 2015 News from the Managers, Nicki and Tracey and Deputy Manager, Natalie – For some of you this will be your last newsletter from us, how sad! We feel very privileged that you and your family chose us to kick start your child’s educational journey. We will miss each and everyone one of you and wish you all the best for the future! Keep in touch and don’t forget to send us a picture of you in your uniform for all your friends who are staying with us to see. For all of you who are staying with us, not to wish the time away, but we will be returning to pre-school on Wednesday 2nd September. We are looking forward to seeing you then! Hope you all have a fantastic summer. Thursday 16th July: For everyone who is returning to us next school year (September 2015), this will be your last day! But make sure you keep busy during the holidays with lots of fun and educational activities. If you need any ideas, just ask us and we will be happy to help. We will be giving you some homework for you and your child to complete focusing on phonics so they are nice and prepared for when we return. You will receive a letter in the next few days about our phonics session that we will be holding on this day. Friday 17th July: 10:00am – 2:00pm Today is your last day  Dress up in fancy dress or a cool party outfit and be ready for, food, fun and games. If you are coming to the party, please inform Natalie the deputy Manager, so we can gage how many of you are coming  Parents/Carers, if you are planning on attending our concert, please may we remind you that it is only 2 adults per child and also let us know if you are coming as we need to know how many adults will be present in the building. Our concert will be starting at 1:00pm so please be prompt. Make sure your child is to us by 10:00am also so that we can enjoy our last day all together. If you are not planning to come to the concert then please pick your child up on time, thank you. There will be a food list up at the door, so please write your name next to an item. If you are pre-making food such as sandwiches, please bring them in on the day. Congratulations to all our new mums! A few people including our practitioner, Danielle have had babies over the past few months and we would like to say well done and congratulations! The week of Monday 6th July, will be the week where you receive your child’s learning journals if they are heading off to school or nursery. Our practitioners have been working very hard on these over your child’s time at nursery. Unfortunately due to ratios and our numbers, this will be a brief handover of their journal. You may receive artwork and pictures on the last day as we are due Ofsted so be prepared.

News

from Natalie, Dee, Seema, Rosa, Jeanna, Marilyn, Sian, Lacey, Amy and Anusha:

Our theme for this month is all about transitions and helping you to ensure that the transition into nursery or reception is as easy as possible. It can be a highly emotional time, for both you and your child, so if you feel like you need some handy tips or just a comforting talk, then we are here to

help. At the setting, we are looking at our new schools through the aid of photo books, uniforms and arranging quick visits to have a look around. Mission of the month: - Practice singing songs at home! We are preparing for our leavers concert so to prepare your child, encourage them to sing in front of family or friends to develop their self-confidence. Just a few notes to start off the month of July:• Please it is very important that your child does not bring anything containing NUTS into the pre-school setting as we do have children and staff who have a NUT ALLERGY!!!  • Please start labelling your child’s clothing especially hats, coats and gloves as we are having trouble with some children wearing the same colour and the same type of coats. If you would like us to do so, simply say. • If you have borrowed clothes from the pre-school please could you return them? We are running very low on girls trousers and if we have nothing to change your child into, we will have to ring you to come and pick them up from the setting. Same with wellington boots, if you have borrowed them please return them ASAP, thank you. Please make sure you have as sufficient amount of clothes so that we are able to change your child especially if they are potty training. Big well done to all your parents who have been encouraging either walking or riding to preschool! Less buggies are better for us as we have lack of storage as you can see. To avoid upset or confusion everything should be clearly labelled with your child’s name. Also remember once you collect your child from their groups, they are your responsibility so DO NOT let them push the door handle to let themselves out. ADULTS ONLY!!!!!! We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Rumaisa, Brandon, Lily May, Kimmora, Jeanna, Danielle and Carol for the month of July. And we would also like to say happy birthday to Max, Antonia, Taylor, Samira, Alfie, Dylan and Alisa for the month of August. We hope you all have lovely birthdays! Please could parents/carers bring in fruit so we can share it during our snack time? You are doing great so keep it up!  Please avoid kiwis as we have a child who has an allergy, thank you!

We have noticed that some parents are still parking next to parked cars outside the school gates - please do not do this! PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING THE STAFF CAR PARK AT ANYTIME EVEN IF THE BARRIER IS UP AS THEY DO HAVE CAMERAS AND HARVARD PARK DO GET INTO TROUBLE IF OUR PARENTS ARE SEEN DRIVING IN. THANK YOU. Can parents please join our Facebook site as we are trialling our newsletters on our new site to save our trees! Just type in Harvard Park Pre-school and Day Nursery into your search engine (i.e. Google) and we should pop up! We regularly update this page with pictures, messages and notices. We will of course print off a few copies for those parents who do not have access to a computer. We will also display a copy on our Parents Table.
