Harvard Park Day Nursery Feltham: July Newsletter 2019 News from the Managers, Nicki and Tracey and Deputy Manager, Carol – We would like to wish our Deputy manager Carol a very happy birthday for this month and also to Simran who will also be celebrating during the month of July. We hope you both have a lovely day celebrating. Party day reminder: ‘Magic in the air’ is our theme! Encourage your child to dress up in colourful clothing as we are going for a carnival celebration theme this year. Our children have got a strong interest in music so there will be lots of fun activities for your children to join in with and get to have a tea party too! Wednesday 24th July: Party day for Freedom zone and Baby Studio Friday 26th July: Party Day for Freedom Zone and Small Steps Sun awareness: Health and saftey Thank you for your co-operation with summer clothing and shoes. Your doing great so keep it up. Over the warmer days we will be having lot’s of water play out so please can we request that you provide spare clothes for all children as our spares are not returning. Please can we also request that you provide a suitable sun hat for all children in ALL rooms as well as sun cream for the children who attend nursery full time. If you child is part time – please apply a good layer of suncream before they start their session with us. Health and Safety issue – Summer Clothing As the weather is getting warmer, we have been advised by outside agencies to inform you of our expectations for summer clothing in order to protect your children from sun damage. We will ask you to provide other form of clothing if your child comes in, in any of these and we may even ask you to return home and change. Please make sure you are providing a jumper or cardigan for you children as well as a sun hat and a bottle of sun cream. The shoulders are the most delicate part of the body’s skin on all children and will burn when exposed to the sun for too long. Sun-cream forms a barrier but does not fully protect them from the damage sun can do. Please be aware of our expectations when dressing your children in the mornings. This applies to Baby Studio and Small Steps as well. Last day for leaver’s Your child’s funding will run out on Friday 30 th August – if you wish to stay on longer until your child has a start date for their new school – please come and see Nicki and Tracey. It is important that we have all children’s last days as we need to look at moving children up into their new rooms internally. A kind request: Feedback at 6:00 pm At the end of the day some of our practitioners have been here since 8:00 am – can we ask you that if you require adequate feedback please be here before 5:45 pm. After this time, it will be very limited. We will start to patrol the room at 5:55 pm as we are getting charged a lot of money from our cleaning company for being unable to access the building. It isn’t fair on our practitioners who have had a very long tiring day to then work over time giving feedback which should take less than 5 minutes. We are request that all parents reduce their feedback to 10 minutes as it not necessary to be getting feedback for longer then this. If you wish to discuss issues or development, please make a scheduled appointment where you can talk to your keyworker where it does not affect our ratio’s.
