When is your last day at Harvard Park?
General Cleanliness: Please make sure you are bathing your children regularly. We know time may run away with you in the evening but it is important for their hygiene that they have regular baths or showers. Also where possible, if you or someone in your household is a smoker please be aware of your child’s belongings such as their school coat and bag. Smoke and the smell of smoke lingers very heavily on clothing. It is not very pleasant for the child wearing the clothes and it can affect their self-esteem.
For all children who receive funding, your last day with us will be Friday 29th August! If you need longer, please drop us a call or email to speak to us. If you are planning to leave before the above date then let us know of the date via email or when you drop off. This is so we can have everything ready for you!
All EyLog Memory orders need to be placed by Friday 9th July so that we have enough time to prepare this too.
Dates for you diary and reminders: End of Term Party dates: Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd July - for all children in all rooms. Dress up theme is: anything you want such as a Disney Character, Princess or Superhero!

Notes from Baby Studio: Ducklings - Simran, Mary, Amanda and Martina: Focus: Personal, Social, Emotional Development Firstly, we would like to welcome Rajishanti to our room and say goodbye to Luna who will be leaving us soon. The children’s personal, social and emotional development is very important as it helps their communication skills between each other and with adults. We will plan and follow through with activities to help encourage socialising and emotional development. Small focus group activities such as song times or sensory boxes as well as group snack times with help increase social skills. We will also be doing some mirror play and for the older children, visiting Small Steps to help with their transitions later on in the year. Reminders: Our end of term parties on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd of July - this does include our room and you can dress your child in fancy dress if you want too. We will have dressing up available for them to play with too.
Sun-cream: If you child is with us full time, please supply a bottle of sun-cream for us to keep at the nursery. We will label it and it will only be used for your child. If you are part time, please apply sun-cream before the start of your session. Please also provide a sun hat too. Please ensure you are providing enough spare clothes for your child, they are babies and will get messy! 3/4 pairs of everything is a good amount. Target @ home : Have some one to one tome with your baby doing things such as role play with pots and pans or tummy time facing each other to help improve social skills.
Notes from Small Steps: Bunnies - Qani, Paulina, Gurpreet, Afsha and Sonia Focus: Music and Movement! We will be looking at different instruments, exploring the sound they make and how we use them in different ways as well as making our own. We will be focusing on listening and attention games like “shake shake shake stop” which encourages children to listen for further instructions. It’s a simple game you could also do at home with anything that makes noise such as pots and pans replacing the shake with tap or in the bath with splashing! We will also be engaging in lots of dancing, exploring different genres of music and exploring with ways that we can move to music such as fast or slow and using material to express ourselves with. It’s going to be an exciting month! Alongside our end of term parties on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd of July, we will at some point this month be asking you to bring in a teddy bear for our annual teddy bears picnic. It will be weather depending (hopefully it improves) but we aim to have some this month. Our dress up theme for the parties will be anything your child likes - Disney, Princess or Superhero. If your child does not want to dress up, don’t force them too. We will have dressing up available here for them to play with. Reminders: Please ensure you are providing enough spare clothes for your child, especially if they are potty or toilet training! 3 or 4 pairs of everything is a good amount. Also please wash your child’s water bottle at home when you take it. We are not responsible for cleaning or sterilising bottles. Task @ home: Record your child dancing or moving to either their favourite music or traditional music for us to see on the EyLog! If you have any CD’s with your cultural music or songs on them, please feel free to bring them in for us to use and return to you.

Notes from Freedom Zone: Cool Cats - Viviana, Charlotte, Sam, Sherry, Ellie, Nabila, Saptati , Harriet and Danielle Focus: Summer Holidays and Staycations Our topic for this month will be all about Summer Holidays and staycations. We know most of us will not be going away this year but we know that a few of you have been or will be going on holiday within the UK. We will be looking at past holidays we have been on so please upload some pictures to the EyLog so we can use them as talking points in our group times. This topic will also cover things such as Sun awareness and Safety in the sun, looking at the Globe and also ties in with transport so there is a lot to explore even though it might not be the summer holiday we are used too. Moving onto the weather, please dress your child appropriately for the weather. Check your weather app before you leave the house. We know it is meant to be summer and warm however, at the moment it is not so please continue to provide a jacket for when the children go outside. Can we remind you no opened toed shoes such as flip flops as these are a health and safety risk. Crocs are a perfect alternative! Teddy Bear’s picnic : we are aiming for the week of the 19th and the week of the 26th. Your keyworker will be informing you of when it will be your child’s turn as we have a lot going on with Graduation Concert recordings, children leaving, end of term parties and working towards the end of term! Our end of term parties will be on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd July. The dress up theme will be : anything you want such as a Disney Character, Princess or Superhero for both days so if you are attending on both days feel free to dress up as much as you like! On Wednesday we will have a party lunch and on Thursday we will have a party tea to celebrate the graduation of our leavers and to celebrate the end of term for those who are staying with us for another year! We would like to say goodbye to Adrijus, Aringas, Yahya, Freya and Oliver who will be leaving us during this month. We hope you have an amazing time at school and we wish you the best of luck!
