Harvard Park Day Nursery Feltham: June Newsletter 2018. News from the Managers, Nicki and Tracey and Deputy Manager, Carol – We have some sad goodbyes to say. We will be saying goodbye to Gurpreet who is getting married and will be moving out of the borough and we will also be saying goodbye to Lucy who is moving onto pastures new. We wish them both the best of luck and thank you for your hard work and co-operation over the years. We would like to wish Hubert, Gurpreet and Marilyn a happy birthday for this month. We would also like to welcome Paulina and Sarah to our Harvard Park team. They have been covering for a month or so and will moving into their rooms very soon.

Signing in and out: Please read this important notice

It has been brought to our attention that not many people are signing their children in and out of the building. This is a LEGAL requirement, an important health and safety document as well as a child protection one. If there is an evacuation for whatever reason, we use this to check who is present. This could be the difference between a child safely out of the building and a life at risk. Please sign them both in and out. Our practitioners try to remind you where possible but they are often very busy so please remember to do this yourself. Thank you for your co-operation and understanding

We are a no nut setting! Please respect this as we have two very severe nut allergies in the building. One of which is air born. If your child has nuts before nursery, please brush their teeth and wash their hands before you leave and do not give them to them on their way! We really do not want to have to administer an EpiPen and put a child through an allergic reaction. Under no circumstances are they allowed in the building. Suncream:

If your child does full days (even if it is two) please supply a bottle of sun cream for your child. We will label it and return it to you at the end of the week. If your child does a morning or afternoon session, please apply some before you come to the setting! We will be going out and about much more making use of the vitamin D from the sun (when it appears).

If your child is going to school in September:

Please inform us of your choice whether it is staying with us, going to nursery or reception and if you have a last day in mind. Please look at our itinerary to find more information about when funding will cease and other party dates.

Itinerary

Please find attached copy of things that will be happening until the end of August. Please be aware that some events may be subject to change and we will also inform you of these as and when they are due to happen. We are currently in the process of setting up a Whatsapp account which will be a no-reply messaging service to give you updates. Please bear with us as we are having a couple of technical issues.

Thursday 14th June: Wear Sport’s wear!

Sport’s week will be happening for the whole nursery the week of the 11 th. On Thursday, please dress your child in sport’s wear to help celebrate the start of the World Cup being held in Russia! This can be a football kit, trainers and shorts or even a rugby shirt!

Teddy Bear’s Picnic week: 25th June onwards

Please make sure your child brings in a teddy from home and join us as we enter the wonderful world of Teddies! We will be planning activities for all rooms and everyone will get a chance to participate. We have done these ever since Harvard Park started and our children love it at this time of year!

At the end of the day:

Please be aware that the building closes at 6:00pm, we have cleaners waiting to start and we get charged extra for every minute they cannot enter the building. Please make your feedback with your key worker brief and be in the building at 5:50pm. If you arrive later than this, our practitioners will be unable to give feedback. If you would like to have a social chat with parents, we love that you do this, but please make sure it is outside of the lobby. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
