We are currently looking for full time and part time staff at both of our settings (Feltham and Isleworth). If you do, please get them to send their CV’S into info@harvardparkdaynursery.co.uk or info@harvardparkpreschool.co.uk Researching: If you are a keen researcher into things such as vaccinations, the amount of time a child should be outside or nutrition for example, please make sure you are looking at legitimate sites which relate to the UK. There are a lot of sites out there which are not well established or are click-bait for other web pages. It is great that you are doing this but please be aware of the legitimacy of the webpage or information you are being given. Also feel free to email any articles to us which you have found helpful and that we could potentially benefit from or pass onto others Menu adjustments: We are working on changing our menu’s to the Spring/Summer edition. We have taken all your comments and opinions on board and we are hoping to input the menu’s in April. So please bear with us while we make these changes. Thank You Fundraising:
We have posters through the nursery so please make sure you have read them! We will be holding a cake bake alongside the sale of a unique Handprint image produced and edited by your child in order to help raise funds for new equipment for your child’s room. You will need to inform us if you DO NOT wish to purchase you child’s handprint as we will not make one if this is the case.
Our Sale will be held on the week of the 10TH April. Other points we would like to make:
Reading Book Bags for sale: We have a library which we allow you to borrow books from when you have a reading bag. They are yours to keep and cost £5. You are given full access to the library and also get a reading record where you can record what books you have taken and read as well as how your children reacted to them. Please see a member of staff for more details. Label your belongings: We are having lots of items going missing. This will not happen if you label all your child’s things (including t-shirts and trousers) with their name. Please consider this when saying something has gone missing, child will have the same items and we cannot be blamed if someone else takes it home thinking it’s theirs. When you enter or leave the building: Please sign your children in and out. It is very important you do this. Our practitioners are very busy and cannot do this for you. We use these in emergency evacuations to make sure we have all the children out of the building. DO NOT let them climb around the banana and flyer stand as well as near the buggy stands.
Please turn over for information about your room
News from Baby Studio – Simran, Mary, Nabila, Roshelle and Amanda: We would like to welcome Alessia, Aringas, Amber and Daniel into our room! Focus: Communication and Language We are looking at continuing to work on our communication and language this month as we have noticed a big change in our children and they are enjoying the activities we have been planning. To help support our older children- We will be continue to use our knock knock boxes and short story sacks as a fun way to learn new language, changing the objects and stories to mirror children’s interests. To help support our younger ones- we are exploring new ideas for messy play and adapting this to help our children develop. We will also be doing a couple of activities based on Mother’s Day and Easter, so please make sure you check cubby holes.
Home Mission: Use the repetition method to introduce your child to daily words. Studies show repetition is key for a child’s new learning and is an approach we use within nursery. These can be words such as cup, socks, milk, mum, dad, bath etc. Other reminders: Please try to keep your child’s nails as short as possible. For your child’s safety as well as the safety of others, please try to trim them down. A quick reminder that breakfast finishes at 9:00am, if you are going to be later than this, please ring to let us know. It does interfere with our planned activities so please try to be here before then.
