If anyone has a new or continuous cough or temperature - please stay at home and inform us. We have done an amazing job so far so let’s keep it up! Welcome to all of our new families and children who have started with us over the last couple of months. We are happy to have you as part of our Harvard Park Family. We would like to say a sad goodbye to Asha who left us at the end of April. Thank you for your hard work while you were with us and we will miss you lots! Thank you for letting us know where your child will be going to in September if they are reception age. If there any changes to the information you have given us such as they will be going to a different school or you have been accepted somewhere else; Please let us know as we have to forward paperwork to schools regarding your child’s current development. If you will be staying with us for another year, you do not need to re-enrol you just need to inform the pre-school. School nursery places are normally announced in May so if you have applied and received your notification - please let us know too.

Harvard Park Pre- School LTD.
Notes from your Pre-School Teachers: Jeanna, Eva, Lucy, Sima, Asha, Roshelle, Kirandeep and Tanya: Focus: Mini-Beasts and Growing We hope you had a lovely half term, please don’t forget to upload any photos or observations to the EyLog of any activities or trips out from your Easter break. We have started our new topic of mini-beasts and growing. The children have been exploring the outside environment by looking for mini-beasts . This is helping the development of the children in all areas such as their language, mathematical development when counting and comparing shapes or sizes and interacting with others when working in small groups to find minibeasts. We will be continuing with this topic and begin our growing section by planting cress and watching the daily changes. We will also link growing by looking into how we grow and how we have developed from a baby to who we are now! If you haven’t already done so, please send in family photo’s to help with this topic. We use them to create family albums for the children which are then used to help settle, comfort a child as well as a talking point to develop communication and friendships. This is also a request from us: please can you avoid bringing in toys from home. When they are lost, it causes a lot of upset. They are NOT our responsibility to look after so please take them with you when you drop off your child. Targets to work on @ home To help support with your child’s transition to their new school, involved your child in the process. Allow them to choose their new lunchbox or pencil case, take them to buy their new uniform, walk them to their new school gates so they are aware of the route and talk to them about the changes they may face. Labeling language - To encourage language development, please make sure you are labelling items. By this we mean not just handing children a t-shirt, for example “now we put on your red t-shirt” or “can you pass me the blue plate?”. This is something we focus on at nursery and would be very helpful for you to do at home too. Support your child with their learning at nursery by looking for bugs together while out and about, look at old family photo’s and talk to them about when they were little and what they couldn't do but can do now!
Reminders: Upload photo’s and video’s to your child’s EyLog. It helps us with your child’s development and also makes a great memory for your child when their times comes to an end at Harvard Park!
Bangles and Bracelets: Please do not send your child in jewellery such as necklaces, bangles or bracelets unless there is a religious reason for this. They pose a health and safety risk to the child and we are not responsible if they break or are damaged while the child is at pre-school. If it is not a religious item please do not send your child in with it. Thank You.
Please remember to label all children’s belongings especially if they are new! Children will have the same bags, coats, jumpers etc. Just a small set of initials on the label inside will be perfect. It will prevent things from going missing.
