Notes from the management team - our Directors Nicki and Tracey and our Manager Poonam: Welcome to Harvard Park Pre-School. Unfortunately, at the end of the last half term - Shalyna had to unexpected leave us due to a change in circumstances. We wish her all the best. We will have a new early years educator joining our team and her name is Lara. She will be introducing herself when she starts so make sure you say hello. A few reminders and notices for November: If there is something concerning you or you wish to have a catch up with your child’s keyworker about their development - please book in an appointment with your room leader and come in for a chat. We have uniform and bookbags for sale - if you are interested in purchasing any uniform or a book bags for your children - please speak to a member of staff and we will see what we have available. Uniform is handy to have as it protects your child’s daily clothes and it is one less thing to think about on your busy mornings or afternoons! If your child is due to go to reception class this year - You must start applying now and have until the 15th January 2023 to apply for Reception Class 2023: When can my child start school? | Primary School Admissions | London Borough of Hounslow follow the link to find out how and more information. Any child born between 01/09/2018 31/08/2019 - this applies to you! We are updating our policies and procedures - you will be receiving them once a month still however at some point when they have been finalised you will receive a full copy. They will also be available on our EyLog System and website, but we will inform you of this at the later date.

Date for December: On Friday 16th December we will be closing at 1:30pm as is the school. This means our afternoon session will be closed. We will work out how and where to swap sessions (as applicable).
Date for December: Our Party day will be on Thursday 15th December both in the morning and afternoon sessions. We will be putting a food list up for donations the last week on November.
Please ensure all coats, hats and gloves have your child’s initials in them so that they are not misplaced or go home in with the wrong person.
All coats must now be warm and thick to make sure all weathers are covered. Please ensure shoes are comfortable, fit well and are covered in i.e no crocs or sandals.
Please ensure all children’s nails are trimmed - this is to prevent accidents from happening to your child and others.
We will be closed on Monday 19th December for 2 weeks. We will re-open on Tuesday 3rd January 2023! Friday 16th December - we are closing at 1:30pm. Birthday’s for the month of November: Children: Happy birthday to 3rd Uchechi, Fabian and Ava! Staff: We have no staff birthdays for November.

Notes from your Pre-School Teachers: Jeanna, Roshelle, Lara, Cathy, Tavnish, and Rhea: Focus: Guy Fawkes and Remembrance Day alongside Emergency Services As we slowly change into the winter seasons we will begin to shift our focus to the celebrations happening around us. To start we will explore Guy Fawkes or Bonfire night (5th November) and look at how to stay safe around fire works - this will tie in nicely with exploring the emergency service of Firefighters. We will then move onto Remembrance (11th November) and look at our armed forces. After these celebrations we will continue to look at the emergency services further and branch into Police, air ambulance and others such as the Royal National Lifeboat Institution or RNLI. Activities will involve making our own poppies to help with fine motor skills, create our own emergency vehicles using junk modelling, role play using props and uniforms and of course, creating our own firework pictures! If you have any small recycling items such as yoghurt pots, kitchen rolls, egg cartons or bottles - please consider donating them to us so we can use them in our junk modelling as well as in water play or for our home corner.
Velcro shoes to support independence: We are asking you to provide Velcro shoes for children starting from now and will be in full force by September. This is to promote independence as well as giving children a sense of their abilities. When we give children shoelaces we are setting them up to fail in completing simple tasks such as taking shoes and socks off—please consider purchasing Velcro shoes for the new year!
During the week of 31st October your child’s keyworker will be posting new targets for you child as well as things we would like you to work on at home. Please make sure you are taking this into account and supporting your keyworker. You can post video’s, memories and photo’s very easily for us to see how their development is happening at home. It means that we are able to mark off more of their milestones that they may not be doing at nursery but are doing them at home such as talking or riding a scooter!
Dates for you diary and reminders: If your child is going to Reception next September, make appointments to go and have a look around your local schools. It is important to look at what is available to you as what is closest might not be the best option for you and your family.
