Focus: Getting to know me-Alongside celebrations and Autumn!
Thank you to those of you who joined us for our first parents in partnership session since the pandemic. We hope you found it insightful and we are working on planning some more! We would like to officially welcome Harriet into our room as she is now a part of the Freedom Zone team.
We will be continuing to work on our theme of “getting to know me!”. The next few weeks below will outline what we will be working with within the weekly time frame. This will take us nicely into November where we will be reviewing the targets that were set and seeing how the children have progressed. The rest of October is as follows:
Week 4 (3rd - 7th): Facial features, body and focusing on the 3 prime areas.
Week 5 (10th 14th): This is our House by Michael Rosen (story)
Week 6 (17th - 21st): Handa’s Surprise by Eileen Browne (story). We will also be focusing on Diwali and finishing our learning with our Diwali celebration on Monday 24th.
Then from Tuesday 25th we will be focusing on Halloween finishing our learning with our Halloween Party on Monday 31st October.
Now the season has changed, there is a lot of opportunities for autumnal walks before or after nursery. We will also be getting out as much as possible during the sessions to have a look at the different colours, weather and natural resources. We are forming our topic table at the start of the month so if you are out and about collecting autumnal resources, you canbring some in to share with us! You might even spot a fabulous leaf on your way to see us.
Reminders: Please read all message from Management as well
Inform us of any holidays you have planned: If you will be away from the setting for any period of time you must email us!
Sickness and Temperatures: Now we have entered the season of coughs and colds, please do not mask any temperatures by giving children Calpol in the morning and NOT informing us. If you do administer any type of medicine, it is important we know in case we have to call an ambulance for any reason. Please ensure that children are well enough for nursery this includes checking their temperature if they do not “look right” or “are not themselves”. If we have to administer any medication while you child is in our care, you will have to pick them up as they should not be here. If a child isnot allowed outside they are not well enough to be at nursery.
Please provide a coat: As the temperature drops and the days are chilly here at nursery until around 3:00pm, please ensure you are providing a warm coat and sensible shoes (no sandals or crocs) such as boots or trainers. If children are not appropriately dressed they will be unable to attend daily trips as we do not have spares on site.
Pick up and drop off’ s: Please note that ALL feedback will be no longer than 5 minutes and will only include what they have eaten, if they slept, nappies if required and a bit about their day. This is not time to discuss any forms of development as we still have children in our care and to keep to ratio’s. Should you require a discussion about your child’s EyLog, Development or behaviour you MUST book an appointment. We will not be discussing this at the door thank you.
