Notes from your Pre-School Teachers: Jeanna, Eva, Sima, Roshelle, Cathy, Carmela, Tanya and Paige: Focus: Autumn and expanding our speech and language! We would like to welcome all of our new children into our setting, we so excited for you to share your education journey with us! Can we please ask that all coats, hats, scarves and gloves are labelled clearly with your child’s initials - we have children who are bringing in the same coats in the same sizes and to avoid disappointment or taking the wrong one home, please put your child’s initials in the labels. This month we will be introducing Autumn, we will be looking at the changes in the environment and different natural resources to help promote all the area’s of development. If you go on a walk with your child, or walk back to home from pre-school, talk about the changes you can see happening such as the changes in the tree’s or the weather and how it feel’s on your skin. Pick up some leaves to take home and create a collage with them or bring them into pre-school for our interest table! This month’s book is “Alan’s Big Scary Teeth” . If you have this book at home, please look at it with your child to familiarise them with the story. Encourage them to talk to you about what they can see in the pictures and you can do the same. If you don’t have access to this story: https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=lQ8cEREqjfU - here is a link to the story being read out loud. During our group times, we are also learning 3 new songs! These will be The wheels on the bus, Incy Wincy Spider and If you’re happy and you know it. If you know them, sing them at home to help embed the new language your child will be learning! This will support them with their learning at Pre-School. Your mission this month: Carve a Pumpkin with your child at home - it is a great sensory activity as well as a good one to help develop language and both physical and turn taking skills! If carving Pumpkin’s isn’t your thing, create one from an old cereal box or cardboard box. Cutting and sticking are great ways to develop creativity and concentration. You can pick crafting resources up at your local supermarket or most pound stores.
Bangles and Bracelets: Please do not send your child in jewellery such as necklaces, bangles or bracelets unless there is a religious reason for this. They pose a health and safety risk to the child and we are not responsible if they break, are damaged or lost while the child is at pre-school. If it is not a religious item - please do not send your child in with it. Thank You.
Family Pictures: Please send through your family pictures so we can get a head start on creating these for your child. Send them through on our WhatsApp account as this is a quick and easy way. It helps a child feel included in the setting as well as a good talking point and in some cases a comfort.
Register with ParentMail and EyLog, Download the Apps and get posting pictures on your child’s EyLog - we are beginning to chase parents up to post observations as part of our Parents in Partnership!
