Notes from your Pre-School Teachers: Jeanna, Roshelle, Shalyna, Cathy, Tavnish, and Rhea: Focus: Celebrations! Moving into October and the Autumn season, we will be exploring the celebrations of Harvest, Diwali and of course, Halloween! We will be aiming to provide children with lots of new language and words as well as opportunities for them to explore on a sensory level. Activities will include Pumpkin carving, junk modelling spiders, diva making, food tasting and creating cards for loved ones. During our small group times, we will be focusing on the books below as well as using our group time boxes to help children develop their sense of our routine, as many of them are new. Our October books will be: - Pick a Pumpkin by Patricia Toht - The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle

- Superworm by Julia Donaldson

- The Very Busy Spider By Eric Carle All of these can be found on YouTube if you don’t have a physical copy of the stories, but please try to look at them with your children to help support them with this learning and singing! Reminders: 

Register with your local dental practice: To support our policy of the month, we are asking you to register with your local dental practice. For children up to the age of 16, Dental care is FREE. Oral hygiene is very important for developing children as poor dental health can lead to infections, regular sickness and speech delay. We will be chasing you up to register and have your first appointment as we have a duty of care to the children.

If your child is in nappies and not potty training, please ensure they are in nappies and not pull ups. It becomes very confusing for the child when it comes to potty training times as they see or feel no difference between a pull up and a nappy. If your child comes in a pull up and they are not potty training—we will ask you to come and change them as it takes a long time to change pull ups when you have to complete 14 nappies to co-inside with our routine.

Velcro shoes to support independence: We are starting from now and will be in full force by well as giving children a sense of their abilities. them up to fail in completing simple tasks such as chasing Velcro shoes for September.

Get posting photo’s and video’s on the EyLog! There are only a few parents who are - we would like to see more!
