Notes from Small Steps: Bunnies - Qani, Paulina, Gurpreet, Harriet and Sonia Focus: All about me to support Personal Social and Emotional Development (PSED) Firstly we would like to welcome Albie, Aayra and Aryan to our room along with Harriet from Freedom Zone! We would like to say a number of goodbye's - to Asfha who will now be in the Baby Studio, to Freja, Oliver, Zara and Alice who are moving up into Freedom Zone and to Kaiyan and Keith who will be leaving us this month! Our topic is to help those who are still settling into our room as well as to support the children with their developing sense of self. To support this we will use our family albums to encourage the children to use their labelling language as well as plan individually for each child and their interests. Our 6 weeks settling period is coming to an end so we will begin to set homework for you to do at home to support your child’s learning at the nursery. We will use this month to focus on their personal, social and emotional development alongside Halloween activities towards the end of the month. Reminders: Please be patient at the gate: We know you are eager to get home and start your home time routine however we do have feedback to give, children to get ready and look after children who are still in our care. Please be patient with us. Buggies: We are no longer accepting any buggies - please take them home with you after drop off. The buggy spaces in the lobby are reserved for the Baby Studio. The weather is changing - please make sure you are bringing in a coat/thick jacket and shoes so we can continue to go out on regular walks and get our daily dose of fresh air. Please also make sure that their outfits are also reflective of the weather - no thin summer dresses or shorts.

Notes from Freedom Zone: Cool Cats - Viviana, Charlotte, Sam, Sherry, Ellie, Nabila, Saptati and Danielle Focus: Autumn and expanding our speech and language! Firstly we would like to welcome all our new children from Small Steps and those who are new to the setting into our room - we so excited for you to share your education journey with us! Can we please ask that all coats, hats, scarves and gloves are labelled clearly with your child’s initials - we have children who are bringing in the same coats in the same sizes and to avoid disappointment or taking the wrong one home, please put your child’s initials in the labels. We would also like to say a sad goodbye to Asim who will be leaving us at the end of the month - we wish him and his family the best of luck with the future! We will be using the topic of Autumn to explore the changes we will experience when moving from summer into Autumn. We will introduce children to the changes in colours, environments, temperatures and weather as well as the changes in the daylight. With this we will incorporate our celebrations such as Halloween into this topic and conduct a multitude of activities surround these topics. IF you do not want your child taking part in Halloween activities, please let your key-worker know and we will adapt activities to suit this request. This month we will also be focusing on expanding our speech and language. We will provide enriching activities such as role play, talking and chatter times as well as specifically basing and modelling our language around the children’s current interests. Amy will also be working on bringing Forest School back and we are working on fitting regular gym visits around our routines - What a busy October we will have! Reminders:
