Notes from your Pre-School Teachers: Jeanna, Eva, Lucy, Gurpreet, Sima, Asha, Ayesha and Roshelle Topic: The celebration of Christmas Our topic for this month is all about the celebration of Christmas. We have specific dates which you need to make yourselves aware of so please read the dates and notices section carefully. This month, we will be using our senses to talk about colours and incorporate maths when exploring Christmas activities. We will be learning new vocabulary based around the celebration, recalling and talking about Christmas’ of past and about upcoming events which will happen at preschool—all of this will help extend our language. We will be doing a variety of craft activities such as making Christmas cards, writing Christmas lists, hand-print Santa’s, creating Christmas trees and wreaths. All of our children will be encouraged to take part in hope that all of us will be able to take something home to share with our families. As well as these activities, we will be learning some new songs such as Jingle bells, we wish you a merry Christmas , when Santa got stuck up the chimney and Christmas puddings. You could also sing these songs with your child at home to help them learn the words. Simply type the title into google and a version should come up if you are not sure of the words or the tune!
