Harvard Park Day Nursery LTD.
Notes from the management team: Nicki, Tracey and our deputy manager Carol We would like to welcome all of our new children into our Harvard Park Family! We are excited to support you in your first steps with education and feel extremely proud you have chosen us. Our newsletter will be sent out monthly and highlights point we feel you need to know from what is happening in your child’s room to any health and safety issues we have identified. You can find this in your personal inbox, via the EyLog and ParentMail as well as on our Facebook Page. We will also be attaching a policy every month for you to read through at your own leisure. If you are having a day off from nursery, are booking a holiday or will not be in for any other reason— please let us know. It is important for our daily numbers to know who will be attending and who will not be. If you are going abroad please be aware that we may require proof of a negative test when you are due to return and will require information about where you have travelled too. This is to safeguard ourselves and all of the families in our care. A message regarding buggies : For those children in Baby Studio—if you are working from home or live locally, please take your pushchair away with you. For those of you in Small Steps— as from September, we will no longer be accepting pushchairs as you are using the back entrance. For hygiene reasons, the wheels carry a lot of dirt and wheeling them through Freedom Zone is unfair to those children and staff. For those children in Freedom Zone (including those who have recently moved up) we no longer accept any buggies into Freedom Zone. You will be asked to take all buggies away with you.
A note about the EyLog and the changes: The changes have now come into effect. You should have all received the presentation we sent out regarding the changes and how they will affect Harvard Park. If you have any questions or queries, please feel free to ask at any point. We are happy to go through things with you. The structure to your child’s Learning journal will change and you will begin to see this change throughout the month of September. We will be asking you to work alongside us to support your child with their development.
We are looking for staff members to join our team: Do you know anyone who holds a Level 3 qualification in childcare and is looking for a job? Do you know anyone who is looking for some flexible working hours to help us out with covering different shifts? Do you know anyone who maybe wanting to start an apprenticeship in childcare care? If you do get them to send us an email: info@harvardparkdaynursery.com or call us on 0208 890 3175
Covid Updates and Dates for you diary: If at any point you wish to talk to the Management team (Nicki, Tracey or Carol), please feel free to book an appointment to speak to us. If you are having a hard time or if there is something you wish to discuss, we are here for you and free at any time.

All of our staff are testing twice a week using the lateral flow system. All staff who are sick or absent from nursery are advised to have a PCR test should they show any symptoms of Covid-19. Any child prescribed anti-biotics needs to be on them for 48 hrs before they return to nursery. We will turn you away if they have only just received this - it is in our policy which we have attached.
NO opened toed shoes or sandals:
Birthdays for the month of September:
These kinds of shoes pose a BIG health and safety risk to children in our care as they can cause a lot of trips and falls. If your child arrives in these we will be asking you to return home and bring us in another pair.
Baby Studio: Happy 1st birthday to Inaya! Small Steps: Happy 2nd birthday to Liam, Ayansh and Kabir! Freedom Zone: Happy 3rd birthday to Aahan and Sapphire! Happy 4th birthday to Nevyaan and Sanshi! Staff: Happy birthday to Sam!

Notes from Baby Studio: Ducklings - Simran, Mary, Amanda and Martina: Focus: Physical Development Firstly, we would like to welcome Shivin, Albie and Felipe to our room and say goodbye to Rishaan and his family who will be leaving us soon as they are moving! To encourage children’s physical development we will have opportunities to participate in planned activities both in fine and gross motor development. For example, garden play and mark making for the older children or tummy time and walking practice for the younger babies. We will now be outlining the targets we are working on at nursery with your child and we would like you to do the same at home. You will be given homework via the EyLog for you to support your child’s development at home - please put you evidence on the EyLog to support this. Reminders:
Please fold down your buggies when dropping off at the front door - if you are working from home or live locally, please take your pushchair away with you. Family Pictures: Please send us some so we can make a family album for your child so they feel included in the setting. These can be done via email or sent on the EyLog! Please ensure you are thoroughly washing all of your bottles when you get home, we only rinse them.
Target @ home : Send pictures of all the fun things you get up to at home. Your baby is different at nursery than at home and may be doing things we haven't seen before - this is important to help their development here at the nursery.
Notes from Small Steps: Bunnies - Qani, Paulina, Gurpreet, Afsha and Sonia Focus: Settling and getting to know you! Firstly we would like to say thank you to all the parents who brought us thank-you / goodbye gifts for last term, We really appreciate it! For those of you who were only holiday last month, we hope you had a lovely time away. We would like to request all parents and carers to be active on the EyLog! If you don’t know how to post or share pictures/videos please let one of us know and we can show you how to do this. As you know the EyLog will be changing it’s format. This means in order for us to help your child in their development we will need your help too. We will be setting homework that you will need to complete and send through the evidence! All new topics and targets will be added onto your child’s observations. Reminders: Spare clothes: Please supply a good amount of spare clothes. 1 or 2 sets in not enough it needs to be 3 or 4 especially for full time children. Please check the weather app before you leave and dress you child accordingly . Buggies: We will no longer be accepting pushchairs as you are using the back entrance. For hygiene reasons, the wheels carry a lot of dirt and wheeling them through Freedom Zone is unfair to those children and staff.
