CNH NEWSLETTER |SUMMER NEWSLETTER (MAY 2017) To add onto the overall cleanliness of the newsletter, there are specific themes that are highlighted to reflect the events of the season. As the term is just beginning at the time of the May Newsletter, the creators hoped to reflect a sense of new beginning and excitement, while also giving thanks and recognition to the last term. The introduction written by Judy Ng, the PHHS Key Club secretary, helps to provide such a feeling and reflects on all the achievements of the past term. This is also reflected in the pages about District Convention 2017, in which a few attendees including members highlighted their experience there. Additionally, an aesthetic section of the May Newsletter is dedicated to introducing the new board with their positions and a blurb. Another theme is the core value of inclusiveness which leads to the club’s wish for recognition of its outstanding events and members. There is a dedicated page for Member of the Month, in which a member was recognized for her excellent involvement as a very active member and who has “always motivated others to work hard”. Events including March of Dimes and PHHS’s annual Nerf Gun War show the variety in how the club raises money for charity or volunteers to aid a charity. Overall, the April to July newsletter excellently follows graphic standards while actively integrates in the values that the club cares for so much.

EVENT RECAPS AND UPCOMING EVENTS Every month, Piedmont Hills Key Club prepares multiple volunteer events for members. To fully recap these events and look back on the fond memories, media directors include pictures and articles of member’s experiences to look back on! Media Directors also feature upcoming events to remind members who have signed up (or maybe interest members to sign up) for the event. Big events such as District Convention, Regional Training Conference, Fall Rally North would be included in future issues to publicize the division and district events and encourage home club members to get involved. Major events also include personal anecdotes written by both members and officers of Piedmont Hills Key Club. For one example, the May edition features District Convention and the articles of numerous members on how much fun they had at District Convention! CNH KEY CLUB NEWSLETTER | ENTRY FORM

CNH NEWSLETTER |FALL NEWSLETTER (OCTOBER 2017) In addition to the graphics of the newsletter, each newsletter displayed themes correlating the month such as October with the start of fall and the title page with autumn leaves along with the matching color to the fall season. This newsletter was chosen to mainly highlight two events that Key is known for our two events which is Regional Training Conference and Fall Rally North. We showcase our members that attended the event of how the event impacted or in general what was so memorable about them after attending. They were featured on the recaps that will be seen in this newsletter and having the members share their experiences. This does not only promote our home school of the many fun events that Key has but shares those memories with other members of the fun experiences they had and, reaching out to other members at our club to attend these events next year and experience these worth wild adventure.

OCTOBER 2017 EDITION The October edition of Piedmont Hills Key Club newsletter was created by our other media director, Amy Van. Thus, there are two different but consistent styles of the newsletter. The theme for this newsletter was fall themed, hence an orange, warm scheme and autumn leaves. Michelle Zhang, our Vice-President of Service, introduces our members in the very beginning of the October newsletter that features major Key Club events such as Regional Training Conference, Fall Rally North, and Freshmen representatives. October was a very busy month for PHHS Key Club! CNH KEY CLUB NEWSLETTER | ENTRY FORM

CNH NEWSLETTER |WINTER NEWSLETTER (DECEMBER 2017) What does winter remind you of? This was a question we asked ourselves when choosing which winter issue to pick out of the three extremely viable options. December is the month where the weather really starts to feel like winter, so it was appropriate to feature this specific newsletter. Throughout the newsletter, it is clear to see that the theme is about the cold season. For example, at the bottom of the front page of the issue, the title “Arc Reactor is covered in snowflakes. The newsletter follows CNH graphic standards, using Century Gothic font and a pencil picture across the top that extends completely across the page. The promotion of Key Club is also present in the front and back of the newsletter; our division, region, and district in the front, the Key Club logo on the back. This month was a great month for Piedmont Hills Key Club, as we were able to surpass our 7500 hour hurdle, getting us closer to our 9000 hour goal! In addition, one of our main service events of the term, the Silicon Valley Santa Run, was held during this month. Attending just Santa Run alone, we were able to serve 226 hours of service. Our PTP and MNT goal are also well on their way, with our PTP goal finished and our MNT goal 3/4ths complete. Furthermore, our monthly Member of the Month recognition system proudly recognized Yenvi Truong for her enthusiasm and hard work. December was a diligent month for our club, and we know the energy does not stop from here!
