Created his first collection in 1947. His first collection was a success as he imposed the New Look.
Revolutionalized the fashion world. The women’s skirt was made longer, 40 cm above the floor.
He was the first Designer that started to licence the production of his accessories to other companies.
His first collection’s All of them were innovative, and his catwalk was the most awaited event of the year.

City where the Dior brand was born. At that time ist was the centre of fashion. And still today it is the last city for fashion shows, because of this reason.
Illustrator for Dior, he was the one that best represented Dior.
Av. Montaigne Nº 30 Dior’s Atelier scince 1947. It was in a hotel and now has become a historic building. Catwalks were held here during Christian Dior’s life. It was decorated by Victor Grand Piere. He used the Loius XVI chairs which are still present in the Atelier. He also used 56 different shades of gray within the Atelier.

Became Dior’s art director in 1961 and remained there for 30 years. He designed clothes for all of the princesses and high-class women.

Became Dior’s art director in 1957 when Christian Dior died of a heart attack. He designed 6 collections for the brand. He made the clothes more comfortable.
Became Dior’s art director in 1989. He already had his own Haute-Couture Line. He had studied architecture. His designes were too modern for Dior.
John Galliano
Born in Gibraltar (1960) to a Gibraltarian father and a Spanish mother. His real name is Juan Carlos Antonio Galliano Guillén, but he is professionaly known as John Galliano. In 1984, he graduated in fashion design from Central St. Martin’s School of Art and Design with a collection inspired by the French Revolution. he collection, entitled Les Incroyables, received positive reviews and was bought in its entirety by and sold in the London fashion boutique Browns. He was awarded British Designer of the Year in 1987, 1994 and 1995. In 1997, he shared the award with Alexander McQueen, Galliano’s successor at Givenchy. Galliano began his own label. Initially, financial backing came from Johan Brun. When this ended, the Danish entrepreneur Peder Bertelsen took over. This agreement finished in 1988 and Galliano sought the backing of German agent Faycal Amor who directed him to set up his base in Paris. Galliano relocated to Paris and held his first show was in 1989 as part of Paris Fashion Week. In July 1995, he was appointed as the designer of Givenchy by Bernard Arnault owner of luxury goods conglomerate LVMH, thus becoming the first British designer to head a French haute couture house.
Dior’s art director since 1996
On 21 January 1996, Galliano presented his first couture show at the helm of Givenchy at the Stade Francais. The collection received high praise within the fashion media. Less than two years later, on October 14, 1996, LVMH moved Galliano to Christian Dior replacing Italian designer Gianfranco Ferré. His first couture show for Dior coincided with the label’s 50th anniversary, on January 20, 1997. He has been quoted as identifying his love of theatre and femininity as central to his creations – “my role is to seduce” he has said and went as far as recreating some of Dior’s period clothing for Madonna in the film Evita. All of his designs are very theatrical and impressive. He is a trend-setter. Once agian, people are waiting for Dior’s designs to appear. It’s Catwalks are the most awaited walk in fashion. In 2007, it was the 60th anniversery of the brand and Galliano made a special Haute -Couture collection. In this year, the Atelier house was also renovated, giving a contemporary look to the Luois XVI chairs. In 2009 the Dior’s catwalks returned to the Maison.
