The final outcome is made using the process of slipcasting, which was then carved out using a scapel. The wooden lids are hand carved using a dremel. Cavity Jars prevents users from consuming additional sweets by making the interaction between user and object difficult. The physical form serves as a reminder to the effects of decay on the body caused by sweets.

is built for users to immerse themselves in nature within build environments. Janjal means forest in Hindi.

BRIEF

“You will be designing a chair for you that you will use in everyday life . You are limited a finite amount of material to produce one full sized (1:1) fully functioning chair.”

11

The final, functioning chair is made using the allowed amount of wood within the brief (44 x 44 x1400) x 3 and (44 x 19 x 1400) x3 and can be flat packed. It provides a place for the user to relax surrounded by nature within a brutalist, built environment. Living in flats means less space to store plants around the house. Through the Jungal chair the user can have enough space to store and look after the plants.

Solution

Sensory play encourages learning through exploration, curiosity, problem solving and creativity... helping to build more connections in the brain by encouraging development of language and motor skills. 14

ideation and modelli Ideas evolved through iterative processes of thinking and making. Constant research broadened my knowledge on my theme enabling me to grow my ideas. This was what led me to discover the benefits of art therapy and music.

Refugees are more likely to experience depression, PTSD and other anxiety disorders compared to local populations.

Loss of cultural identity and language barriers can lead to feelings of isolation within host countries.
