As a chinese-moslem who never celebrated Chinese New Year before, in 2024, finally, I finally took a glimpse of the CNY celebration in Indonesia’s most tolerant city, Singkawang.

I collected and turned them into 3 mini zines that feature each element of Singkawang City. The town, the cultural ceremony, and the dragon of the year.

This is a full preview (for digital publication only) of my second publication CNY Trip in Singkawang mini zine series. It comes in three different editions. First this preview, "1,000 Temples City" Ed. The other two are "Catch The Dragon" Ed. and "Lampion All Over The Town" Ed.

Each mini-zine consists of 8 photos, printed on Tatami, 8.5 cm x 10 cm sized, and accordion-folded to resemble the dragon / barongsai shape with a mica plastic sheet on the back cover window.

To keep the raw and honest feelings from each moment, all of the curated photos are unedited or no-filter added. All photos were shot on an iPhone.
