This is what we are going to discuss today. First, why would women in general wear makeup in their daily life? They want to cover up a blemish, acne lesion, pigmentation, sun damage, or give a contour or shadow-play. They want to show the “fake aspect” of themselves to the world which they really are not, by putting inches of chemicals on their skin! It’s a reality that stings! I am here to tell you that you can be yourself looking flawless, if you start acting early, and consistently. Here are the tips: Tip #1: Start skin care early and regularly. Everyone should have a right cleanser, toner, and the right moisturizer appropriate for their skin. Know the difference between skin care and make-up. We are against make-up; its “making up” and making things up just literally means “untruth”. That’s why it is called “make-up”. Skincare is nourishing, pampering, and taking care of the skin. Huge difference! Tip#2: Use UV sun-protection daily, with an SPF of at least 40+, that gives protection against both UV-A, and UV-B. There are also now ingredients available that give protection against blue-light and infra-red light. Certain conditions like melasma get exacerbated by both UV light and Infrared heat. Tip#3: Exfoliate regularly. While at-home exfoliation is a gentle way and easier, regular professional exfoliation can help stimulate collagen, remove sun damage, and prevent fine lines from appearing. These forms of exfoliation include microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and microneedling. Tip#4: Exercise regularly. Walk a mile daily is the simplest form and the easiest one to do. Walking or running regularly improves the blood circulation, eliminates toxins in sweat, and assists lymphatic drainage, and not to mention the feel-good endorphin release! Sweating out is a good thing for the health of the skin.
Tip#5: Eat well! Eat right! Fresh greens, and antioxidant alkaline diet is not only good for your skin but is also good for the overall health. Alkaline foods that you should consume more include, lentils, onion, sweet potatoes, lime, watermelon, pineapple, tangerines, raspberry, pumpkin seeds, pepper, cashew, garlic, asparagus, kale, arugula, broccoli, ginger, mango, mushrooms, honeydew, cabbage, cauliflower almonds, sprouted vegetables and spices line cinnamon are some examples.
Tip#6: Drink 2 liters of filtered and structured water daily, that is free of chlorine. Water is the most important nutrient that everyone needs. An easy rule of thumb is half of weight in pounds is the number of ounces of water your body needs daily. For example, if you weigh 140 lbs (64 kg), you will need to drink 70 ounces (2.1 liters) of water daily. Tip#7: Take these supplements: No one eats a perfectly balanced diet! A good quality multivitamin consumption daily is one way of ensuring the prevention of deficiencies. The most important ones are Zinc, Vitamin D3, Vitamin C, magnesium, and B-complex. Tip#8: By age 25 everyone should start a nightly Retinol or Retin-A topical application as a moisturizer, to improve cell turn over and over all anti-aging.
Tip#9: Special treatment conditions: these include laser skin rejuvenation, IPL photo rejuvenation, RF treatments, PDO threads, PRP treatments in NJ and laser peels.
