The ideas of playfulness, adaptability, collectivity, and diversity were the main influencers in the inception for the concept formulation for this project. During our time, that things are changing rapidly, needs differ from day to day, hour to hour, person to person, society needs design flexible and responsive to all these requirements, every time. In such a situation, there is no need to stay focused on the conservative idea of the completely stable character of design, according to which every designed object is aimed to serve a single one purpose. The need for adaptable design, ready to be transformed and introduce people to this contemporary changing reality and educate them to accept and adapt in each social and time context, is obvious. Approaching this idea, at the same time, main priority is the creation of flexible, enjoyable spaces and the adoption of a more playful perspective to architectural design, through which the concept of stability of the well-defined urban fabric is redefined. An important intention is to create an interesting public space-part in the city, which contributes to the discharge of the intensity of daily routine, and offers its users a variety of experiences through special spatial qualities. The design is based on a playful treaty, with twists and turns between empty and full spaces. The program is organized around three atriums and four main building volumes, with the contribution of movable components, which work as unifying or separating objects between the stable parts of the building. At the same time, the movable components can create bigger or smaller interior spaces, according to the various requirements. The design therefore focuses on creating a self-managed meeting place for all social and age groups, where people – in order to maintain it - coexist, interact and function as a community, enjoying places for study, activities, relaxation, play and work. Therefore, people are introduced to the concepts of coexistence, collectivity, cooperation and respect for the ever-changing environment, which prevails.

DETAIL OF TWO MOVABLE COMPONENTS Free spaces mainly for relaxation , sitting together , yoga and meditation. Their Interior surface is lined with wood, while exterior is covered with purple metal surface with vertical texture. Their structure are connected to the metal bridge, which ‘carries’ them, and with a sliding system are moving along its length.

DESIGN IDEA The design idea of the theater school is a building with a yard in the middle so as the sun can reach amphitheatres and workshop’s spaces as well. In addition, Promenada aims to offer citizens of another one public city place in the city centre. This is achieved by the form of the terraced foyer which is semi-submerged and actually a ramp, that starts from the yard, which is also open to the city. The school is also a terraced ramp, accessible only from the interior, whit an outdoor cinema at the end.

”
This project’s main purpose is the redefinition of the typical style of housing in Greece and the people’s introduction to collectivity and cooperation. The site which is going to host this idea is “DEPOT”, in Thessaloniki and is of quite historic importance due to its special uses during the last century. The suggestion is a collective residence, which combines the characteristics of a traditional house with those of a contemporary block of flats in order to provide opposite meanings as individuality - coexistence and isolation - interaction. Taking into consideration the society’s tension multiculturalism, residents are going to be people from different nationalities, who need to collaborate each other using and preserving collective halls and outdoor spaces, most of them available to locals as well . The residence consists of two main buildings, four existing warehouses and three unifying elements - two ramps and a covered corridor in the marketplace, which join the new buildings and the warehouses together.

DESIGN IDEA
The main idea is to create a public spot, which can be transformed from a statement to a covered place. It can host some small actions or be there just to protect from sun and rain, creating a hot-spot in a public area.

DESIGN IDEA
The design idea is based on a network of air tubes, which is used as the supportive system of the whole structure. The air tubes a r e c r o s s e d i n a w a y, t h a t t h e y c a n s u p p o r t t h e m s e l v e s . I n o r d e r to be more stable a ring of air-tubes, located at the base of the whole pavilion helps the pavilion, as it is, to preserve its form and to remain lifted. Finally a membrane is added on the top, in order the space above to be covered. This pavilion can be used as a small temporary exhibition hall or to host a small happening, offering a covered place.
