Product Development Hiring Manager Gear for Sports 9700 Commerce Parkway Lenexa, Kansas 66219 April 20th, 2016 To whom it may concern, Since I first decided the fashion and costume industry would be my career trajectory 7 years ago, I have been keenly observing successful and professional garment companies such as Gear for Sports, which I toured in college. I come to you today in hopes of stepping into this environment. As my resume indicates, I received my Associate of Applied Science in Fashion Design and Technology from Johnson County Community College in 2012. During my time as a student I learned how to turn conceptual art into cohesive garments and how to turn finished products into a lucrative business. Presently, I am taking more classes at JCCC to increase my knowledge and to further my fashion career. During my last semester at JCCC, I was hired with EleveĂŠ Dancewear, then a start-up company of two years. In the past five years I have grown with the company, providing my skills (and learning new ones) in every department: management, customer service, design team, and of course, garment production. It also introduced me to the world of freelance costuming, which has allowed me the creative freedom that fuels my creativity, while learning to be a driven self-starter. Having been on the front lines of a growing small business has given me comprehensive insight into the garment business. I would look forward to continuing my growth as a clothes designer in my chosen career-field by experiencing the inner workings of an established company such as Gear for Sports. I would be honored to be considered for the Technical Design Internship, a position that would be met with exuberance and determination. I feel my creativity, attention to detail, experience with fabric textiles, Active Wear, PLM, Illustrator, and Photoshop would be highly beneficial to the position. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you, Sincerely, Anna Rendina 913-909-6199 ladylumineux@gmail.com
