PANEL DISCUSSION: Understanding AI’s position in the midst of Digital Transformation SYNOPSIS: Today, the digital world is overtaking the physical world. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an important component of digital transformation and is continuously evolving. By 2025, the AI market will surpass $100 billion as per Constellation Research. As per IDC FutureScapes – By 2019, 40% of digital transformation initiatives – and 100% of IoT initiatives will be supported by AI capabilities. This will impact every business and redefine the way products/ services are delivered. While there are immense benefits of AI adoption, it is also causing a scare in terms making lots of current work scenarios redundant but is expected to create newer work areas
SYNOPSIS: We live in a world in which the way we observe and control it is radically changing. Increasingly, we interact with physical processes and physical objects through computational systems such as IoT. This new and rapidly growing interconnectedness of cyber and physical realms offers us amazing capabilities. But it also introduces disquieting possibilities. Those possibilities reach beyond cyberspace to threaten the physical world in which we live and – potentially – our

PANEL DISCUSSION: The Role of Submarine Cables during the Content, IoT and Cloud Explosion
Sponsored by:
SYNOPSIS: Cloud companies investing into cable systems directly, as opposed to leasing capacity from the telco consortia’s that own them, is a fairly recent development. Intercontinental connectivity has been a major investment focus for most content players and cloud providers over recent years. These companies now consume so much bandwidth that it makes more financial sense to get involved directly in these projects in order to better manage cost and quality.
MODERATOR: Sean Bergin, President & Co-Founder of APTelecom PANELISTS: Emmanuel Delanoue, CEO of Samoa Submarine Cable Company Byron Clatterbuck, CEO of SEACOM Winston Qiu, Senior Vice President of Pacific Light Data Communication Mike Constable, Chief Executive / Board Director of Huawei Marine Networks Fabrizio Civitarese, President Asia Pacific of Global Cloud Xchange

PANEL DISCUSSION: How blockchain is transforming the payments landscape SYNOPSIS: Blockchain is a system for recording and sharing information, including financial data. Because of the way data is stored within a blockchain, there is no need for a central organization tasked with controlling records. This decentralization makes it easier to transfer data or money while reducing the risk of fraud or error. The benefits are such that the World Economic Forum has predicted that 10% of GDP will be stored on blockchain technology by 2025. Blockchain has become famous mostly through the meteoric rise of bitcoin, which has seen the market value of cryptocurrencies rise to over $540 billion. But its use goes far beyond this. Its ability to verify clients and products is expected to lead to better records of property ownership and certification of diamonds. It could provide smart contracts that automatically pay out when success criteria are hit. By acting as a secure system for direct payments, it will reduce the need for intermediaries in financial systems, allowing people to make payments more quickly and directly.
MODERATOR: Michelle Chan, Director, Tech Marketing & Strategic Partnership of ASTRI PANELISTS: Miranda Tan, CEO & Founder of Robin8 Atsushi Hisatsumi, Founder & CEO of PATRON Shantnu Saxena, CEO of Bank4YOU Group Harpreet Singh Maan, CEO & Founder of Blocklime
news - as they were always OTT players. For others - this is a major shift in business model.
Sponsored by:
2. (sub topic): Content producers are highly concerned about piracy and theft of their content. How does the shift to OTT play over the public internet affect this concern? More scrutiny? Lost hope? New business models? 3. From SD to HD to 4K, 8K. From Bergman to Batman to Pacman. Is the improvement in quality of content delivery matched by delivery of quality content? 4. Is VR a reality? The technology is nearly there. Content is becoming available. But are users really going to adapt to use of those funny goggles rather than sitting in front of (or walking/ driving by) a screen? 5. Effective marketing campaigns in a borderless world? How can one target content to the audience when audience is no longer clearly defined?
