ThereisanurgentneedformoreanimalsheltersinthecityofTallahassee.Strayanimalsare seenoftenallaroundthecity.Theobjectiveistocreateafacilitythatisdedicatedtoserving strayanimalsandthosewhoareinneedofpettherapy.Thereisaneedforananimalshelter forhomelessanimals,astherearefewanimalrescueservicesnearthesitearea.The renovationoftheoutparcel,aimstobenefitanimalsinneedofrehabilitationandpeoplein needofemotionalsupport.Thespacealsoserves asanadoptioncenter,forindividualswho arelookingtowelcomeanimalsintotheirfamilies;whilegainingrevenuebyprovidingother animalservicesforpetowners,suchasgroomingandmedicalservices.Thetherapyservice willincorporateengagementbetweentheshelter'sanimalsandpeopleseekingtherapyfor boththeirphysicalandmentalwell-being.

Theconceptofthisprojectbeing resilience representsthe abilitytorecover after experiencingadversityandtrauma.Theideaofresiliencerepresentstheunderstandingthat healingislikeclimbingamountain withthefocusofmovingforward.This stability willbe presentedinrectilinearlinesreminiscentofthe trailofprogress , healing ,and recovery .The layoutofthespace willbeestablishedthrough distin ctzoningandpurpose ,promotingthe successofallusers.Theuseofverticallineswillhelpguidetheusers'eyeuptowardthehigh ceilings.Overall,thegoalistoestablish anunderstandingandsupportiveenvironment that takesintoaccountthetime,space,andhelpneededtoheal.

Thisprojectentaileddesigninganaccessiblehomeforaretiredcouple.TheclientsareMr.TaylorandMr. Walshwhohaverecentlypurchasedanunfinishedhome,thedesignofthisresidentialhomeaddresstheir lovefornatureandneedtoaccommodatetheirsonandhisfamily(w ifeandchild.)Theconceptofthis designisinspiredbythisgraphicofatree.Withitsuseoforganicshapesseeninnatureandbranches whichdisplayalinearform.Theoverallconceptofthisdesignwillincorporateanecologicalmodernistic design,whileaccommodatingtheneedforaginginplacewithADArequirements.Thisnatureintegration willbedonewiththeuseofnaturallightingthroughlargewindowsandnaturalmaterialsastoemulate theoutsidenature.
