Goodnight, Child of God

Goodnight, Child of God

By Drew D. Chancey

Illustrated by Olga Shalamova

Beneath the starry evening sky Creation sings a lullaby

The sun glorifies God with its final rays

The moon yawns and quietly offers praise

Lilies curl up in their comfy clothes

Nests are fluffed for sleepy sparrows

Lambs sleep sound in shepherds' arms

Snuggled warm and safe from harm

Time for bed, child of God, time for bed

Our prayers arise to our Father above Christ defeated death through perfect love

The Holy Spirit is as a comforting breeze In the evening light, we hymn one God in three

Be at peace, child of God, be at peace
