ABOUT ME DESIGNS
Hello, my name is Andie! I am from a small town in Missouri called Westphalia. I recently graduated from The University of Missouri, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design. I have always had a passion for design art, and helping others. Interior Design was a perfect fit. Within Interior Design I am able to apply these skills at a professional level, while doing what I love. I am a nature enthusiast and love incorporating plants and greenery into my projects. I enjoy playing with colors and textiles in my designs, while achieving the project goals of a client.

The site of the building is surrounded by many artsy shops and restaurants. The Art Bazaar, Jefferson City Museum of Modern Art, as well as the Capitol, make this a great location for a hotel with an event venue. There is so much to do nearby the site. This venue would be great for any upscale event hosted by the capital,
CONTEXT ANALYSIS
weddings and more.
BACKGROUND
For my thesis project, I am using an old shoe factory located in Jefferson City, Missouri. I will be renovating it into a hotel with a multi-use event space. It will consist of hotel rooms for guests, a garden, wine bar, patio, and venue. In the hotel, there are amenities for guests, like a pool, spa, sauna, and gym.

CONCEPT

SUBTRACTIVE “Less is More.” The use of raw, natural materials. Not additive but subtractive, minimalistic design. By subtracting the use excess stuff and incorporating more natural, durable materials, it is more beneficial to the environment. The Subtractive Concept relates to “Cradle to Cradle” rather than “Cradle to Grave.”
BACKGROUND
ECOzy is an extended stay inn. The main people who would be staying here are college students. Not many places in Columbia offer 6 month leases, so this is a place for anyone wanting to rent from month to month

Walkway CONSTELLATION For the media center, I tried to incorporate the concept, constellation, throughout the space. The lighting on the ceiling represents the movement of constellation and breaks off throughout the space which brings in bright colors, angled way finding and creative imagination for the students. The color scheme includes bright energetic colors which proves to be an important factor in perception in an learning environment. This positively influence mood and behavior and makes the space appear larger than it actually is and making it feel open. The brightness of a constellation flowing throughout the room allows the students and teachers to be more productive

NORTH ELEVATION The intent of this design is to create a larger and flexible makerspace to accommodate different activities such as an open instructional area, study rooms, hands on learning space, and collaboration area. The teachers are able to set up the environment differently. This space includes a classroom, shop, collaborative space, and individual study area. The makerspace is designed to be welcoming, calm environment where students are able to freely choose work throughout the day.

The final model, was created on one plane with the pick tool. First, a large rectangle was drawn, then a second rectangle was created on the same plane. Model lines were then drawn with the pick tool to create the separate faces of the triangles shown. They were extruded to 100’-0” to get the correct width. Then the bottom points of the inner rectangle were moved back to create the twisted view of the opening.
