THE IDENTITY OF INDONESIAN COFFEE IS THE IMPORTANT THING TO THIS COMPANY TO BE EXPRESSED ON ITSâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; STORE DESIGN. BEING ONE OF THE PREMIUM COFFEE BRAND IS THE CHALLENGE FOR US TO PRESENT THE EXCELLENT DESIGN PURPOSE.

July 2019, I joined EXCELSO as Interior designer which is fully in charge to design all of their store. Excelso is the first Indonesian coffee shop in Indonesia who served the best way to enjoy the coffee. To follow companyâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s goal, we need to design our store to welcome the customer and make them feel addicted to our store

BAR DESIGN PROTOTYPE

New bar design has bold identity on showing us the modern but warm to welcome the customer. Bar area is designed as open as possible to blur the boundary between the customer and waitress. Selected material are choosen to enhance warm ambience. Wood-concrete-dark painting combined with herringbone tiles are the expression of nature elements and modern stuff. All materials are selected as minimal as possible to create a space with home-feels which able to keep the guest feels like home and always want to come back again. PAINT RENDER

Hanging cabinet on the wall is not just a storage, it also has a function as a diplay rack and part of bar design. The bending tube steels hold the wooden racks. We make it as simple as possible to keep the bar area not to busy with stuff.

BOOTH EXHIBITION PROTOTYPE Small but complex, this is design prototype for EXCELSO Booth Exhibition. Every item must be designed as a moveable stuff. Limited space is not possible for us to waste every inch of the space only for decorative items. The design really needs to be as compact as possible but easy enough to be noticed by the customer. Bar area is a must area to accomodate. we need to simplify the way of circulation for the staff and the customer. We also need a space for the customer to sit and have some chit-chat with the staff on our booth.

Excelso Grand Paragon is one of our store in Jakarta established in 2010. Since its ď&#x20AC; rst opening, this store is only takes minor renovation. Outdated design needs to be updated to rejuvenate the ambience and also bring a brand new Excelso to public. Excelso always give a best place to enjoy the coffee on the best way. We upgrade the design to have a modern feels with less decorative items but strong enough to give the accent on every corner. We avoid playful color to keep the ambience calm and peace. Materials selection are also applied to show its texture and true identity.

New design proposal for an ols store in Ternate , Indonesia. Using the bold black steel adn brass detail to give a strong sense of modern and luxurious. Light herringbone tiles bring the bar area as the center point of this store. Dark paint render on the shopfront is not too strong but good enough with brass framing to stole the customer attention. Mural art image on side wall combined the concrete wall shows the identity as a coffee shop. this wall is contast enough with the dark paint on the ceiling and the column. PAINT RENDER

Excelso Panakukang has been brewed the best coffee since 2011. It was the ď&#x20AC; rst coffee shop with cafe style in the city. Now the store is being renovated to rejuvenate. It has two zone, non smoking are-bar-kitchen and smoking area. These two area are separated by the mall corridor. To refresh the ambience, we propose grey tone color domination which determined modern look. Wooden touch also applied to bring the warm feeling on the store. Round mirror, large mural art on the wall and the bar are the attractive things to encorage the customer to feel our best coffee. PAINT RENDER

BATAM (PARK AVENUE BATAM) Excelso Batam is a new design outlet. In this outlet, we hightlight the greenery to take more role in creating a comfort space. Materials and color pallette remain the same but added new leather to give more luxury feels. Our idea is to give our guest an ambience enjoying a coffe in a garden.

Excelso Batam is part of Park Avenue Mall tenant. Our outlet is located near the Lobby and has a wide shopfront. Our outlet also visible from the drop off and through the car way.

BATAM (PARK AVENUE BATAM) BAR Area is located in the middle corner of our outlet. Chosen position is to highlight the Bar Area as a main point in the outlet. Wall tiles is only used in Bar area to make it special and be the only one in the entire space. The contrast between materials also judged which one is the main point. Bar Ceiling is used wood panel and has lower height than another ceiling. This is another strategy to create a more intimate space and contrast.

SEATING area is designed to have various type of chair and table. In the middle of the room is bench seat with dining table. This area is supposed to be a crowded place. We set the center zone to accommodate group customer and the corner zone to be more private and quiet. Earthtone material and greenery should be well merged and giving a warm ambience. Linear vertical elements are added to bring modern feels and also give a strong identity between the interior elements. High ceiling is remain to present spacious feels for the space. Lower ceilings are set on the boundary to create more intimate and private space

EXCELSO PARK AVENUE BATAM This outlet has two PRIVATE ROOM.These rooms are to accomodate private meeting or private party. Being a cozy enough space to do a special gathering. Wooden oor and greyish wall nish are selected based on our goals, creating a cozy space. Due to not big enough space, we give 3.5 metres ceiling and surrounded by indirect light. Wooden table added in the middle of the space and as the center of activities

NEW EXPERIENCE Providing space to enjoy the coffee in a different way, BAR style seating. Bar seating is spotted next to its BAR. Shelves stacked up on the wall behind are a displaying space. Customer will able to select which food&beverages and also our staff will explain why our customer should try each menu.see how our food and beverages are being prepared and also choose which product the will taste.

Our idea is to build a new interaction between our staff and the customer. Bar seating is designed to be as close as possible with BAR area. We want make our customer feels comfort enaough to come and enjoy our products

WHITE MARBLE

Materials selection with colors that tend to be dark gives the impression of warm and calm. A touch of material with a contrasting color such as, white marble, and gold color is given to provide accent and balance. Synthetic Leather is also added to strengthen the impression of luxury.

DESIGN ALTERNATIVE Design alternative for Premium outlet is proposed to give an option in more LIGHT mood. Brighter ambience with white dominance color is well merged with wood and metal accent. White strip tiles as a background presents a clean and minimalist image.

Excelso East Coast 2 is part of new Shopping Mall in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. The idea is still same, to create a comfort space to enjoy and taste Indonesian Coffee. Given space is quite unique, it has two separated space. Space on the unit will set up to be a Bar and Kitchen area, an island space will be the seating area. The biggest challenge is to keep both of the spaces still being one space, Excelso outlet. Based on the proposed layout, we create the island space is being opened and see throught the Bar. In Front of the Bar we have the entrance to the seating area and merchandise rack to welcome the customer.

Seating area is located in the different lease space from Bar-kitchen area, an island space between corridors is determined as a seating space. The island space is located in front of the Bar-kitchen area. Half of the space is under the Mall Void and give a visual acces from the upstair. Spotlight is selected to bring the focus light on the table and helps the seating area has different ambience from the Mall corridor.

The new unit for Excelso is located on the edge of retail arcade and next to main entrance. Its location give more opportunities, every side of the outlet can be seen from almost every direction. Customers who walked through the main corridor or the main entrance will be easily noticed the outlet. Surrounded by the planter and seating conď&#x20AC; guration, the actual size of our outlet is mostly dedicated for Bar and Kitchen. We designed Bar to be one of the attractive spot for our customer. Color pallete is adapted another Excelso outletâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s design, Transforming earth-tone material into a cozy space to enjoy the coffee.

Freshmart Paniki is a Grocery store in Manado city. Excelso is one of the tenant who has a space near in the entrance. The space has no wall as a boundary (only Kitchen area which has walls). To create a bold boundary, we create the ceiling as a boundary for the seating area. With no massive boundary on the seating area, we tried to make the seating area as a part of the grocery interior. BAR Area located in the edge of the space to maximize the visibility of seating area.

Smoking Area is also part of the building facade. It has a good opportunity, customer who is just arrived will be welcomed by EXCELSO. Customer will also directly sit on the smoking area and order the menu.
