Street made it three wins and nine points in eight days and completed the double over Petersfield but were made to work hard for their win by a committed home side in a game that was virtually decided by a fiveminute spell in the first half.

Both goalkeepers were quickly involved with home custodian Tim Jackson having to leave his area to clear a through ball and Jordi Wilson at the other end claiming a high free kick in a crowded six-yard box.

Street slowly made their way into the game and the sixteenth minute was the prelude to a five-minute spell that in the end decided the destination of the points. Joe Wright’s quickly taken free kick found Mikey Davis on the left and his low cross was turned in by Adam Pearson at the far post, the tall defender having gone up largely to add his height to the attack. Two minutes on and the advantage was doubled as neat control by Chris Flood gave Shane Lock a shooting chance and though the first effort was blocked, he swept the loose ball past Jackson. The clock had yet to reach the halfway mark when Josh Jeffery won a corner – it was inches away from being an own goal the kick caused a scramble in the home sixyard box that was ended by Shane Lock forcing the ball over the line for his second to give his side a three-goal lead.

The game was becoming scrappy, and the home side missed a chance when there were three passes inside the area before the ball was cleared when all three were shooting opportunities. At the midway point of the half Petersfield reduced the deficit. A long free kick was headed back across goal from the far post and Akoman forced the ball over the line. Jackson then saved at Flood’s feet but generally it was the home side going forward with a volley from Jake Burton almost shaving the crossbar. But the Street held on to secure the three points and move up to fourth.
