It’s not Merseyside, Milan or Manchester – but it’s ours. Welcome back to Foxcotte Park for Street verses Town.

Like so many matches before today, we are looking forward to be entertained as the two senior sides lock horns once again.

Red cards have been a feature here down the years, with Primus being sent off in the 2-2 draw last season at the Portway and let us forget the double sending off of Street’s Danny Field and Connor Thorne, on top of the sin bins to Matt Scott and Scott Kinge in the 5-2 defeat the season before that.

These matches have been covered in Wessex League One, Wessex League Cup, FA Vase, North Hants Senior and Andover Open Cups, but not yet in the Wessex Premier. One day perhaps?

Street are looking a good bet for the title, but there’s still work to do, and some difficult fixtures ahead, starting today, with the likes of East Cowes Vics, Newport IOW and Totton & Eling to come.

Two wins from those games, including today, would mathematically secure Street the title and after going so close last season and all the hard work that Jamie, Jamie, Ash, Thomo, Ken and the lads have put in during this long season. Hopefully, we can be celebrating three years hard work to get to the position we have so longed for

So many memories of these classic games between the two sides; let’s make some more today.
