Today’s FA Vase match provides a break from the recent league fixtures but we already are playing catch-up after only playing three league fixtures so far this season.

Although we are no where near our peak in regards to performances, we are grinding out results and after Folland Sports losing back-to-back matches over the past week, it shows that there will be many a twist and turn this season.

We were no where near our best last Saturday, although we created plenty of chances, we could not find the killer third goal that would have killed Ash Utd off. They managed to score what turned out to be a consolation late on but we managed to see the game out.

We can’t win every game pretty and by loads of goals. Sometimes it has to be ugly and that was what last Saturday was.

I can honestly say that this current group of players is the best I have worked with during my time in football. First and foremost, they are brilliant human beings, but they are also hardworking and humble, which has given us the platform to have a real chance at achieving something special this season. The club has been on an upward spiral for a number of years now. We’ve had a lot of successful times and we’ve been at the right end of the table.

All the lads know what I require and demand and the new players on board have bought into what I want straight away. To be honest it feels like the new players we’ve added have been here for years.

The team spirit is amazing which is really pleasing - it can take you so far. Combine that with the talent we have in this squad I’m hoping we can emulate what we did last season but just better it that little more.

Our ultimate goal is to win the league and secure promotion and to be completely honest that what I demand and expect from this group of players. Everything is there for them.

Be loud and proud from the stands, this afternoon and enjoy the game. UTS!

“OUR ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO WIN THE LEAGUE AND SECURE PROMOTION AND TO BE COMPLETELY HONEST THAT WHAT I DEMAND AND EXPECT FROM THIS GROUP OF PLAYERS.
