WHAT’S THE STORY?

The Street got back to winning ways, but were made to wait until the final 10 minutes before two late Mikey Davis goals earned the three points.

In a lacklustre first half, the Street finally had a couple of opportunities that both fell to Reece Rushet, but he was too high with both his efforts.

Downton showed their intent when they struck the post with an effort from outside the box.

The Robins thought they had opened the scoring 10 minutes into the second half when Marcel Laptus put the ball past O’Brien but a covering defender was able to get back and clear the ball off the line.

Max Allen and Josh Jeffery were introduced from the bench, with the Street looking to exploit Jeffery’s fresh legs upfront. However, it would Mikey Davis that would open the scoring, when he took advantage of some poor defending to score.

The points were sealed 8 minutes later when Davis got his second when he coolly finished past the Downton keeper.
