Anne and the enchanted animals By Thomas Baquero and Yuly Gordillo

In a world of dragons, magicians and goblins, Anne, a beautiful girl with the reddest lips the world ever saw, was walking alone in the forest, we do not know her destination, but we do know that she was really happy.

She enjoyed walking around the forest and playing with the animals. She did not fear any animal, tigers, foxes, wolfs, all they were her friends.

Soon, the day darkened, so she decided to come back. But in her way home she found something that really called her attention.

Beautiful shrubs shaped like animals were aside a beautiful path. They were those forest animals she loved so much, the ones that made her happy.

She spent the next ten minutes looking at those sculptures. They looked so alive.

Curious about it, she decided to find out who created those magnificent sculptures. After a couple of minutes walking, she heard a strange noise..

-Be careful, girl. That path is dangerous. -said an archer hidden behind a huge tree-. A goblin has been transforming the animals into shrubs since a long time ago.

-The path leads to the goblin’s house -the archer continued-. But no one has ever found his house.

-But, why he did that to the animals? -Anne asked. -Nobody knows it-he answered. -And , had someone ever tried to stop him? -she asked. -Of course! But, they never found the goblin-The archer saw a strange light in her eyes-. Don’t try to catch him. He is more dangerous than he seems. -I won’t. Thanks for the warning, sir. -she answered. But she was lying.

As soon as the archer got away, she continued her way by the path. After a short time, she started to recognize some of the animal’s sculptures. She was walking in circles. The path was a circle.

The evening arrived and she was far of find the goblin’s house. She was thinking about giving up, when she saw some little lights trapped inside a jar. She opened the jar and released the lights.

The little lights were stars and, in appreciation for release them, they showed her where the goblin’s house was.

-In a tree? -Anne said. -Yes, but it is not any tree. It is a special one. - A soft voice answered- Only a special kind of bird can take you there.

Fortunately, Anne knew a very special bird, the oldest owl of the forest. For sure, he knew were that special tree was. Anne asked him for help, and the old owl agreed to help her.

From the distance, she noticed that what the stars said her was true. The tree was a very special one.

The old owl let her in front of the main door of the goblin’s house. She went to the door and knocked.

There he was! The sneaky goblin living in the top of a tree. Without any hesitation, she asked with an angry voice: -Why did you transform my friends into shrubs? They are nice! -I hate when they do not talk to me. They deserve to be shrubs!-The goblin answered. -It is not their fault! Will you stop if I teach you their language? -I will. -The goblin promised.

She spent the rest of the night teaching him the language of the animals. He was very smart, so he learned it quickly.

The goblin took her back to where the sculptures were, and started to free all the shrubs from the spell. All they started to change to real animals.

All the eyes of the shrub animals started to bright again, and this made Anne really happy. Since that day, the forest was no longer a dark place.

The End.
