We might as well have signed up for our skydiving adventure the moment we set foot on Australian soil. It was item number one on our "to-experienceabroad" list and we couldn't have been more excited. So on the fifth of February, Kaitlin Vaughn, Kyle Rader, Kendra Prather, and I woke up ready to fly. We waved goodbye to everyone at camp, hopped into a jank limo, drove to a tiki themed shack, and apprehensively proceeded to sign our lives away. We geared up, attempted to take in all thirty seconds of given instruction, climbed into the tiniest plane ever, and got cozy real quick with our oh-so-awesome tandem jumpers. Before we knew it, the plane door opened and we were flipping, falling, then floating through gorgeous blue skies until we eventually landed back on solid ground. The entire experience exceeded my highest expectations and I was instantly ready to do it all again.
loved. every. second.
If you can stand in an open doorway, eight thousand feet above the ground, and will yourself to step into empty space... then you can do anything.

Maybe he's right. Maybe there is something the matter with me. I just don't see how a world that makes such wonderful things could be bad. Look at this stuff Isn't it neat?...

A town talked about by many, criticised by most, and truly known by few. A time capsule located in northern tropical New South Wales, Australia. It’s stuck in a moment in time when smoking marijuana wasn’t seen as a crime, and hippies were young hopefuls changing the world.

"People along Australia's east coast are being warned to stay away from beaches this morning as a tsunami heads our way. The alert follows a massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake which hit off the coast of Chile in the middle of the night toppling buildings, cutting power and killing at least 150 people. The tsunami was racing across the Pacific Ocean at around 720km per hour, a quake expert said. The NSW Government has warned of possible dangerous waves, strong ocean currents and foreshore flooding for several hours from 8.30am."

Adventure is a path. Real adventure – self-determined, selfmotivated, often risky – forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind – and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white. -Mark
