södertälje reinventing itself from town to a city It might seem as one, and fair enough it does not lack any of the formal aspects but it does not feel as a city. It grew too fast and too recklessly and now it simply does not work
what makes a city, creates an idea of a place? public space or a sequence of public spaces where you at last sit down, exhale and let it sink in -this is södertälje
aim? show södertälje what is missing by framing set of diverse public spaces in size, scale and enclosure by one building.

centralplan is,at te moment, chaotic boundless, left-over space merely adjecent to Stockholm´s central station. it is not exdending the functions of the main station nor serving as its first impression or first welcoming impression when returning home
we decided to turn it into full-fledged, dignified square we stripped it clean, unified it by surface and defined it by edges. the usually varied elements of public realm such as bus stops, canopies, parasoles of cafĂŠs, entrances to the tube are recognised as the cause of messiness and thus unified into circular pavilions
we
chose to turn
this task into
a
statement,
to offer an alternative of more balance car-predestrian relationship to Stockholm. We propose to turn some of the pavilions into a consumer - free zone, where you can sit stand or talk without the now so unquestionable condition as consumption.

bloom is a generic name given to many of the socialist mass housing estates built in former czechoslovakia purpose of the project was to supplement what was missing in modernist structures. Variaton of housing units in size but also in its relationship to surroudings, the focus however was on the diversity and hierarchization of public spaces. These consist of main park on-top-of.the-hill, since the only remaining historical landmark of the city is located there. Then of linear park acting as a transitionary zone between old and new structures. The topography made it possible to deal with servising on every second street, thus the others offer semi-private and private public

stratford highstreet has turned into a highway with rail tracks acting as barriers and effectively dividing it. unsystematic planning and development resulted in ‘pockets of character’ - disconnected parts of it with distinctie typology and historical background along the street
permeability, walkability and

podkonice is village utterly missing public space
thus the purpose of this project was to design a main square to meet up and chat, to have weekly market or host events
communities in rural areas are culturally strong thus most of the special occassions are celebrated together
topography and previous demolisions resulted in left-over spaces, thus I chose to also propose secondary public spaces or their sequence of various sizes and functions
