What is Aromatherapy? Aromatherapy Diffuser What is Aromatherapy? Aromatherapy involves the use of aromatherapy essential oils to improve physical and mental well-being. Although the term aromatherapy was not used until the 20th century, the foundations of aromatherapy are set several thousand years ago. The roots of aromatherapy can be traced back over 3,500 years before the birth of Christ, at a time when the use of aromatics for the first time was recorded in human history. In reality, the history of aromatherapy is inexorably linked with the development of aromatic drugs were in the early days related to religion, mysticism and magic. It was a time when the ancient Egyptians first burned incense, herbs and spices in honor of their gods. They believed that the smoke comes up to the sky where their prayers and wishes will be brought directly to the deity. During Egypt’s third Dynasty (2650th to 2575th BC) in their quest for immortality Egyptians developed the process of embalming and mummification. Frankincense, myrrh, cinnamon, cedar and juniper were used at some stage of preserving dead bodies in preparation for the afterlife. Egyptians liked to use simple smells in everyday life at every opportunity. At festivals and celebrations women wore perfumed headdress which would be melted by the heat. After bathing, the Egyptians were anointing their body with aromatherapy oils to protect skin from sunlight. In the period between 18 and 25 Dynasty (1539th to 657th BC) the Egyptians were still improving the use of aromatics in medicine, cosmetics, and finally as a perfume. Only a few hundred years before the birth of Christ, Egyptian perfume industry was hailed as the best in the entire Middle East and beyond. When Julius Caesar returned home to Cleopatra after conquering Egypt around the 48th BC, perfume bottles were thrown into the crowd to show his dominance over Egypt. The richness of the Egyptian pharmacopoeia has been adopted by many other cultures. The Assyrians, Babylonians and the Hebrews drew their vast knowledge from the Egyptians. When the Egyptian empire collapsed around 300 BC, Europe became the heart of medicine where new methods were continually evolving, and scientific system of healing was coming to life.

Aromatherapy Diffuser

Aromatherapy diffuser (as one of the aromatherapy products), unlike aromatherapy candles, does not heat the essential oil, so it does not come to its degradation. The aromatherapy oils are dispersed into small droplets completely, so there is no separation of volatile and less volatile compounds. Furthermore, the aromatherapy diffuser can much faster fill the room with essential oils, then aromatherapy candles. This is particularly evident when the essential oils we use in order to facilitate respiratory illnesses (colds, flu). Through the air aromatherapy diffuser saturates the room with drops of essential oils and it has a healing effect on the respiratory system. Aromatherapy diffuser is device intended for dispersing essential oils into the space in the form of tiny droplets. The size of these droplets is very small, microscopically small, so they look like a cloud or mist. Sometimes these diffusers are called “nebulizer (from the Latin nebulum, mist). There are various types of diffuser. The most expensive ones scatter essential oil by ultrasound and they are often used for scientific purposes and not for everyday use. Less expensive but equally effective aromatherapy diffuser, creates tiny droplets through the air in a thin glass or metal tubes. Small drops of essential oil directly penetrate to the alveoli in the lungs and thereby enhance the healing properties of essential oils. Aromatherapy diffuser comes with built-in air pump, and a series of tubes that brings air into the larger glass container, which contains the essential oil. The air pressure in the pipe disperses essential oil, a specially designed opening glass tank allows exit to only tiny droplets that can levitate in the air, while larger droplets stop and return back to the tank with essential oils. Pump can usually be adjusted to that the faster flow of air to the greater mass of essential oil discharged from the diffuser. In some scientific studies researchers discovered that aromatherapy diffuser has a healing effect on bed bug infestation. Copyright by FeelGoodTime.net All rights reserved.
