MARCH 21, 2016
Come out and support your local arts community by attending Creative Waco’s launch party with featured guest speaker Bill Lively.
Creative Waco is a brand new non-profit organization in Waco that launched April 2015. It started out of a desire to see Waco flourish in a way that unified its community and is an organization who's mission is to grow the arts sector in our community. I have gotten to work right alongside executive director Fiona Bond since day one and it has been the
highlight of my experience there thus far. I have learned so much more than I bargained for and that is due in large part to her mentorship. I have learned measures through watching Fiona allocate her time and advocate for a cause you are passionate about in a way that benefits our city. I have learned how to think in terms of tangible resources and results and have grown increasingly aware of what it looks like to move a ship forward steadily while having limited resources. Fiona is a visionary at heart and I believe it is hard for anyone to walk out of a meeting with her and not leave with a hopeful vision of all that Waco could be.
IN THIS ISSUE:
TESTIMONIAL Having started in the summer gave me a huge head start on having an overall working knowledge of what we were about and what I was helping her accomplish. It absolutely set me up to win in my advanced public relations class and has taught me so much more than distinguishing what type of work I want to be doing, Its taught me how I want to work. Being a part of Creative Waco compels me to believe that the work that I do has an affect on my community. I am a part of building something that is made to last by being a bridge. The arts, connecting people to people.

LETTER OF INTENT November 4, 2015 Mr. Denis Lowry, Chair Grants Advisory Council Charlotte Community Foundation, Inc. P.O. Box 512047 Punta Gorda, FL 33951-2047 Dear Mr. Lowry, Creative Waco seeks a grant of $5,000 from the Charlotte Community Foundation for support of our Creative Waco bag. We are grateful for the support we received from the Charlotte Community Foundation in June for operational funding and think this new proposal may be of comparable interest to your Foundation. We think this project is aligned with the Foundation’s goals in funding creative projects that are meaningful to the community. Our organization, established in March 2015, is serving the Waco community with our services: we are the umbrella organization that empowers and facilitates community connectios with the art scene in Waco. We are bringing a collection of creative entrepreneur together to create an alliance of people ready to advocate for the arts in Waco, and we support our local artists in thier endeavors to show the world what they can do. Recently, we have been in several news media in which Creative Waco was honored for making headway in our community and building someting that has never been attempted berfore. Building brand recognition in Waco, promoting the artists who take part in the design and fundraisng for the organization. The project will take two months to implement, $5,000 and we expect the following results: brand recognition and brand trust across the board, cultural district status and thus economic development due to new access to government funding for the arts that will be channeled in and distributed through Creative Waco. We have received some monetary contributions and volunteer staff help in the early stages. Support for our first year will come from Central National Bank, Baylor University and the Waco Arts Alliance, and the project will complete by March 2016, marking the end of our first year of operations. We will be glad to submit a full proposal with additional information for your further review. Sincerely,

Public Relations Plan, Budget and Analytics Creative Waco’s goal is to connect the arts with the community and help Waco become a state-recognized cultural arts district. We’re an umbrella organization. Our vision is to grow and support a thriving cultural and creative community in Waco. Our newly established group is run primarily by Fiona Bond, executive director. She’s spearheading this movement while balancing being a Baylor graduate student, as well as a wife and mother of two children. She does it all. Our current and most prominent PR effort is to research, design and market canvas bags our organization will see to raise money. This campaign will serve as a booster for brand recognition, and community presence. We have recently obtained 501- C3 status, and thus are a recognized non profit organization with proper tax exemptions. This status prohibits us from certain commercial activity; however we have come up with a fundraising and marketing campaign that functions within those boundaries. We have sought out potential donors. We expect a budget of about $5,000. Creative Waco has funds set aside for future events and funding to distribute to artists. Because we are a new organization with technically only one employee and a board of members who donate their time, our staff budget is essentially nonexistent. Additionally, we are building brand recognition and community presence by populating social media avenues such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. We are also arranging for a monthly newsletter to be sent out so Creative Waco Supporters can be kept up to date on what we are accomplishing and where we’re headed.
WACO, Texas –On March 21, Bill Lively is coming to speak at Creative Waco’s launch event party at the Waco Hippodrome on how he raised $338 million and how any organization can too. . This event will be hosted at the Hippodrome and tickets will start at $30 a piece. All efforts go towards raising funds for Creative Waco so that it has the funds that it needs to under-go the cultural arts district application process. This semi-formal event will be caterd by MILO and Farm To Table exclusivley for this event. It will also be the coming out party for the first and new Creative Waco totebag and auction. Creative Waco is putting on the even that will be headed up by founder and executive director Fiona Bond. Bill Lively is a friend and mentor to Bond and will be doing a joint session in discussing why growing the arts in Waco Texas is important. Particularly discussing the reasons why Waco is the perfect candidate for a state recognized cultural arts district. Lively is known to be an exceptional inspiriational public speaker. Having him in Waco is an honor and gleaning from his professional insight on raising funding for projects, particularly in the arts sector is an amazing opportunity not only for non-profit organizations in the area but also to business owners across the board. For additional information on Creative Waco, contact Andrea Perez or visit creativewaco.org.
