The Evolution of Justin Bieber’s Style

Six years after releasing his debut album My World, and the universe still hasn’t found a remedy for Bieber Fever. Since emerging onto the scene at the tender age of 15, the baby-faced Canadian has managed to conquer the charts with countless hits, scoop up dozens of accolades and accrue one of the most devoted legions of diehard fans – aka the notorious “Beliebers” – unmatched by any other contemporary pop artist (besides Lady Gaga’s “Little Monsters”).

While we’ve witnessed Bieber’s growing pains undergo Disney-grade teen dream status to DUI-collecting delinquent, the substantial development of JB’s personal style certainly deserves its own shout; over the years, we’ve seen the Biebs transform from purple hoodie-wearing mall kid to swagged-out streetwear maestro.

While we session his fourth studio albumPurpose on repeat, we decided to look back at the evolution of Bieber’s style throughout his career. From the middle school mishaps to the tastefully trendy, seeing how Justin Bieber’s style has developed has been nothing if not entertaining – and he certainly shows no sign of slowing down. But then again, never say never.

He is one of pop's most successful stars. But Justin Bieber has revealed that the price he pays for fame and fortune is a costly one - which makes everyday life increasingly difficult for the 21 year-old. Speaking to NME, the Canadian singer has offered a rare insight into his experience of success, which includes depression, isolation and betrayal.

JUSTIN BIEBER

Discussing how the media treat him by 'different standards', he said: 'It’s because of the way the 'Justin Bieber brand' was portrayed. I was a wholesome pop star who was so amazing who had nice hair and a f***ing image that no one could ever live up to. So when all this happened people were like, ‘Woah, let’s rip him apart’. If you see Ghandi roll up a blunt, it’s different to seeing Ryan Gosling roll up a blunt. You wouldn’t give Ryan Gosling a hard time.' He added: 'I just want people to know I’m human. I’m struggling just to get through the days. I think a lot of people are.' He revealed: 'There's a lot of stuff that reminds me of her. In relationships, you see something on TV and you're like remember when we used to watch this.' If Bieber's last trip around the planet is anything to go by, the 'Promise World Tour' is set to be a lucrative venture for him. The musician's 'Believe Tour' kicked off in 2012, had seven legs, spanned 15 months and featured over 150 concerts dates, and banked a reputed $209.2 million.
