I intend to become a licensed architect working for an acclaimed architectural firm. I aspire to build upon my skill set every day to become an excellent architect. The School of Architecture and Interior Design (SAID) at the University of Cincinnati (UC). GPA of 3.725. One year in UC’s Exploratory Studies Program. Graduated in the Spring of 2015. The Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA). PSEO Program at UC during my senior year of high school.

Experience: Elaut USA: I work for Elaut USA at Kings Island Amusement Park as a game attendant and technician fixing, cleaning, and stocking arcade machines. I handle guest disputes and I was placed in charge of our warehouse supply. The Boy Scouts of America (Eagle Scout Project): In the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), I learned a lot about leadership, teamwork, and mental endurance. For my Eagle Scout Project, I had the privilege to organize, plan, and build over 50 dog toys which I designed and constructed for a local animal shelter. Athletics:

Skill Set:

While in high school, I played in a recreational soccer club. My team and I won the 2011 state tournament. • Autocad • Rhino • Basic skills in Revit

• Adobe Indesign • Adobe Illustrator • Adobe Photoshop

• Microsoft Office • Drafting by hand • Rendering by hand

Douglas House Analysis

The Reconstruction Process Using Autocad, I was expected to draw the Douglas House (designed by Richard Meier). I drew four elevations and plans, a section, and a site plan in Autocad. I used Rhinoceros 5 to construct a 3D model of the Douglas House. I used Adobe Illustrator to diagram each floor’s access points, circulation, and spatial qualities.

02

Plane Cube

Fall 2016

Project Objective: • Use planar components to construct a space that is visually engaging. • The space must define a cube that is 1 ft. x 1 ft.

Personal Aims: • Construct the space in a balanced manner. • Create a customized experience from several views.

The Kit of Parts

04

The Body Mantle

Fall 2016

Project Objective: • Pick one material and construct a wearable piece by assembling over 100 units of that material using a single method of connection. • The body mantle must allow movement.

Personal Aims: • Create a piece of armor that has defined plates and is durable. • Produce something that shifts and changes with movement.

05

The Balance Block Project Objective: • Use volumetric components to define a space. • The space must be contained within a cube that is 1 ft. x 1 ft and must balance on a 1 in. x 1 in. pedestal

Personal Aims: • Use a complex polygon to construct a more organic form. • Produce a sense of hierarchy within the design.

In The Spirit Of Emotions 8000 Plan

The movement through the building is symbolic of the stages of grief. Each level contains qualities that evoke particular emotional responses. The crit space is located on the joyous level during the emotional state when people are most likely to gather and celebrate. The threshold is overwhelming and gloomy. This space introduces people to the level of depression. This space also obstructs the view out the North window on the level of agression. The Double-Height space allows those on the joyous level to look down on the level of agression.

7000 Plan

These are drafted by hand.

In The Context Of Tunnels A tunnel is a series of frames constructed by a repetition of arches. I amplified this relationship by using frames to construct tunnels. The tunnels are the crit space. The crit space is openly displayed throughout a triple-height space.

6000 Plan

The threshold is an exploration of the perspective within tunnels using arches in sequence. These are drafted by hand.

North Elevation

In The Manner Of Norman Foster (Version One) North Elevation

Norman Foster's buildings such as the Gherkin (30 St. Mary Axe), exhibit exoskeleton-like, structural frames. These structures are often visible through glass and display a pattern. The Gherkin showcases vastly open, double-height spaces. I echo these features in my interpretation of his style. These are drafted by hand.

Revisions: Inclusion of a spiral structure within the building. Threshold provides a smoother transition from exterior to interior. Various sizes of metal beams were used. More conscious use of model materials. These are drafted by hand.

The Folly (at 1:1 scale)

Spring 2016

Early Development Being a group project, many ideas circulated. Bringing circuit board-like features to the design, my group's early design style included circuit board and tree features that also amplified the usage of light. However, as groups merged, we all agreed upon a wigwam design.

The Folly Constructed Proceeding with the wigwam folly design, my group and I began to address how platforms and net-like features would benefit the design. We also focused our attention on structural soundness, ease of assembly, and an ergonomic interior.

The Poetry Foundation (A Sequence of Terms) Language Driving the Space For this project, we were provided site information to construct the Cincinnati Poetry Foundation. Reading the poem “Take Out the I by Sharon Olds, I then collaged an image symbolizing that poem. Using that imagery, I chose five spatial terms: hierarchy, shift, sprawl, center, and branch and I produced collages and diagrams to represent those terms.
