EXTENSION COMPETITION,
PROGRAM: Foyer Services, Conference and Representation Facilities, Restaurant and Kitchen Facilities, Exhibition Spaces, Collections Treatment and Storage Facilities, Offices, Conference Room and Library, Property Management Facilities, Circulations, Extension of the Exterior Circulation. BUILDING AREA: The design of the building extension, works as a connector between the Melasjarvi Lake, the Taavetinsaari island and the park, a destination point. Rather than going to the museum simply to look at art, visitors are welcomed to engage in artistic discourse primarily by the architecture of the building itself. According to the basic assumptions, for some of the design options taken, the new building is developed according to a constructive streamlined grid - oriented in a cross shape by two major circulation axes - the longitudinal (North - South ) crossing the (East-West) direction. This cross circulation (interior and exterior) provides a spatial distribution of the program in all quadrants (North-East, East / South, South / West and West / North) where we will insert the implemented different functional areas. The entrance foyer acts as the heart of the old and the new building, directing the visitors along all the museological spaces. NEW RAILROAD STATION OF SANTAR M AND ROAD-RAIL INTERFACE, PORTUGAL, 2006 - 2010 PROGRAM: Passenger areas, food and shopping areas (cafeteria, shops...), railway operators areas, REFER area, platforms, interface/outdoor, car silo. CLIENT: REFER, EPE BUILDING AREA: INTERFACE AREA: STATUS: Execution Project The new railroad Station of and road-rail interface , was part of the Modernization Project of the Northern Line (PMLN), Setil /Entroncamento. The creation of a pedestrian route connection was proposed due to the proximity between the new station and the future urban park. This new territorial reorganization allows a new visual and physical relationship with this rail infrastructure. So we opted for a functional layout in which the entry of passengers is situated at the highest elevation of the land, on the west side of the station - square - resulting in a access system that, through the galleries at the lobby level (57.00), processes the connection between entries and platforms, in circuits in which the access to the line, the path is always descending, and in the exit from the line, the path is always ascending. The car silo have 3 floors, partially buried and which coverage is the same share of the station square, this should have the least visual and environmental possible impact. CLIENT: REFER, EPE BUILDING & PLATFORMS AREA: (21,920 sf) STATUS: Execution Project Following the fire that destroyed the building of the current Vale de secondary railroad station, it became necessary to reformulate the solution presented above, it was concluded to be more beneficial to opt for the demolition of the existing building. The new Vale de secondary railroad station, was part of the Modernization Project of the Northern Line (PMLN), Setil /Entroncamento. The conception of the solution considered the location conditions and accessibility of the station, the spaces available for intervention and the existing rail infrastructure, as well as, its relationship to the need for implementation of the interface features ("Kiss and ride" and "park and ride") and the crossing the railway line is through the upper walkway, with stairs and elevator to comply with the regulatory conditions of accessibility of disabled users. WORKSHOP Water Of The Templars: The Convent and Aqueduct, Thermal Program The team responsible for coordinating the workshop consisted of: Jorge Cruz Pinto, Hugo Cantone, Antonello Monaco, Jorge Oseki, Mariagrazia Leonardi, Andrea Rosario Cristelli e Pedro Cabrito. Part of the workshop took place in Tomar, more precisely at the Convent of Christ and consisted in an open program from the interpretation of the Convent of Christ, where the design was the tool of representation analysis, of which the theme was water, geometry and space. The proposed architecture should be based on a hypothesis of a program of uses that respects the spirit of the place and aim to reuse the aqueduct which is currently disabled; and the presence of water as a functional element of revitalization. The title of our work was the Sanus Per Aquam, that is, we made a proposal for a Spa, so we took the cisterns of the Convent of Christ to create our Spa. In terms of the program we have: Pools caledarium, tepidarium, frigidarium, Turkish bath, sauna, Jacuzzi pool, biological pool, massage rooms, services, restrooms, shower and locker rooms. The skylights were used for natural lighting to caledarium, the old irrigation system for the gardens was turned into a water mirror, and the tanks were converted into swimming pools. C ITY M U SE UM _ COR E X X AN D X XI C EN TU RY , L I S B O N , P O R T U G A L PROGRAM: Public areas, service areas, technical areas, parking areas. FA-UTL: 2007 / 2008 BUILDING AREA: The area of intervention of this project is the area surrounding the road junction in the "Twin Towers". The establishment of this museum came in trying to make the connection to Monsanto by changing the road system and a green path, where the link is the building. This proposal consists in the creation of a new roundabout which develops according to the topography of the land, a green path with the intention of connecting the Parque Eduardo VII to Monsanto, and a museum located within the roundabout that will be part of a building - the bridge . This, at certain areas of land will be based on a system of platforms and tunnels that will connect the existing viaduct, adopting a pedestrian character, and of leisure, where outdoor cafes, banks, etc can exist. The Museum has two exterior parking areas, one for visitors and another to support it, surrounded by a large green space that can be used for exhibitions. The interior space is divided into public areas, service and technical areas, with the restaurant and cafeteria facing south, overlooking the Valley of Alcantara, and the exhibition area to the west overlooking Monsanto. Zinc and U-Glass will be used for exterior materials.
