Portafolio of evidences Formal representation of space André Luján A01540245 Activities organized by modules

Module 1 Graphic Representation of space

Knowing sketching drawing. This activity was an introduction to 3d drawing, adding a little square in the corner of a big square and also a pointed lines to know the depth of the figure.

Learning = • Think more In 3D • Improve my abilities to visualice my drawings in 3D

Evidences

A theory of light and shade. Exercise one: Graduated tone pencil shading In this activity we create 6 squares to add in each square a different tone with the same pencil from dark to brighness. Learning = • Create different tones with one pencil • Which tones belongs to dark and brighness • Types of tones

Evidences

Drawing drop shadows with natural light In this activity we have to draw a fruit with 2 different lights one with natural light and another with artificial light, this with the aim to know the different between this 2 light because in many buildings there are these 2 lights on interiors and exteriors and also when you are sketching arquitectural drawings.

Learning = • 3D thinking • Analyze space • Drawing shadow skills • Know to take good pictures

Evidences

Modeling a cube. 4 corner sections. In this activity we respond some questions about some technical terms about cubes, as edge, vertices, faces, ect.

Learning = • Difference between edge and vertices • Couting faces with veriations in the cube • 3D thinking

Evidences

Orthographic projection. - Front, Side and Top view. (Clay cube model) In this activity we create a clay cube and we cut the Little squere in the corner as we did before, but now making a powerpoint to see different angles Front, side, top view and the ortographic projection. We use as a reference a White paper that we create for this.

• • • • •

Learning = 3D thinking Sculpture skills Molding skills Ortographic projection

Evidences

Proportion Systems In this activity we learn about somre proportion systems very Useful to make mesurements.

Learning = • Proportion systems • Making measurements • Measure with scaler, compass, etc. • Golden Section - Logarithmic Spiral

Evidences

Module 2 Form and space

Recognise shape and space In this activity we had to do a video analyzing and explaining all the arquitectural elements of space and how relates to each other. Learning = • Editing skills with Adobe premiere, besides • Improve about perspective recreating the building in different angles to analyse it.

Evidences

Architectural drawings. In this activity we had to read and answear some questions in a presentation our teach gave us about architectural plans and technical terms of architectural elements like = section, interior elevation, facade, floor plan etc. A presentation made using nearpod’s presentations. Learning = • Improve architectual plans drawings • Technical architectural terms

Form transformation. Case study In this activity we analyze a building and we created a recreation of the building on some way to explain all the parts of the building. Learning = • 3D thinking • Space analisis • Architectural plans • Modeling in Maya

Evidences

Live Home 3D & Roomstyler Apps In this activity we had to recreate our room in 3D with one of this 2 apps; Live home 3D and Roomstyler. For this activity I used Roomstyler. We needed to create the plans and a 3D visualization of the room. Learning = • Editing skills with Roomstyler • Knowing architectural plans • 3D thinking • Arquitectural elements visualization

Module 3 Materials for handmade scale models

My slotted sculpture. IMAGE (PHOTO) In this activity we design some slammers in power point and created a slotted sculpture with the target of practicing and get ideas for our final Project.

Learning = • Element design skills • Types of slotted forms • 3D activity • Analyzing space, rhythm and stability

Evidences

My clay cube in a cardboard scale model This time, we had to recreate our clay cube model that we did the last activities in carboard instead of clay. This because we wanted to

practice a little bit more with the cardboard and our tools of cutting. Besides we created a presentation showing diferente pictures with all the

angles; front, side and top. Learning = • Cutting carboard skills

• 3D thinking • Improve visualization the objects in

different angles and in ortographic projection

Evidences

Material proposal In this activity we had to do a document where we Explain the materials that the final shelter would have.

Learning = • Creative process • 3D thinking • Sketching skills

Evidences

Module 4 Software Technology

Cube Sketchup modeling. In this activity we had to make a 3D model in sketchup and create a short video showing the different angles as we did with the clay model.

Learning = • Editing skills in premier pro • Modeling skills in sketchup software • 3D thinking • Ortographic projection

Evidences

Storytelling. A personal script. VIDEO with MUSIC (GarageBand). This activity we had to create a stop motion video using the sculpture that we made in my slotted sculpture activity. Besides, this video had to had a storytelling and music make by ourself in a program as GarageBand. In this activity I used Fl studio instead of GarageBand.

Learning = • Music editing skills with FL Studio • Video editing in Adobe Premier Pro • Stop motion recording • Storytelling

Final challenge Activities

Bruno Munari Methodology. Challenge In this activity we had to read the Bruno Munari book; how objects are born? This with the target to analyze his methodology of design. Because is one of the most important Way to create a design proyect. Learning = • Design process • Creative design • Definition of a problem • Do not confuse idea with creativity

Analisis of a PAVILION with Bruno Munari's Methodology. CHALLENGE In this activity we analyze a Pavilion shelter with the methology of bruno munari. This because is one of the most famous type of structure that can be recreated with cardboard easiest, and to get ideas for our final shelter. Learning = • Knowing Pavilion structure • Analyzing more bruno munari’s methodology • Creative process for our final project

Evidences

Brainstorming about my shelter CHALLENGE This activity was to create a many ideas to create our final modular shelter. Giving ideas of location, size, slammers, colors, form, etc. Using padlet board web page to post all of our ideas and other people can see it. Learning = • Padlet board skills • Creativity process • Sketching skills • Drawing in different angles and perspectives

Evidences

Scale 1.20 Scale Model for my Shelter In this activity we had to make our 1.20 scale model using our scaler, then create a powerpoint to explain the elements and slammers use in the final shelter

Learning = • Powerpoint editing skills • Improvemente of slammers design In powerpoint

Conclusions about the class I think that this class was a great challenge for me, but as a digital artist I was able to take advantage to make personal projects and improvements in my art with all the activities in the course. I loved each activity and I feel that I learnt a lot with no stress. The teacher were very kind and pacient and i liked that a lot during all the course.
